Good Morning America: Bronzer Basics
During summer, a nice tan is a popular look. But you can save the damage to your skin from the sun’s UV rays and achieve a similar look using bronzer, if you know how to pull off the look. Good Morning America turned to Yahoo beauty editor Bobbi Brown for a quick lesson in Bronzer Basics.
GMA: What is Bronzer For?
A-list stars can be seen sporting a perfectly tanned bronzer look on the red carpet. “Bronzer is the quickest way to just give some life to your face,” Bobbi Brown said.
Bobbi said it can also be used to correct foundation, in addition to creating a healthy glow. “Bronzer will absolutely make your skin look healthier,” she said.
Good Morning America: When To Apply Bronzer
The right time to put on Bronzer is after you have applied foundation and concealer. “It’s really hard to choose the color,” Brown said.
You may be tempted to go for a dark shade because you want the tan effect. But this can leave you looking orange instead of tan. Choosing the best shade is a bit more complicated. Find something with no shine that will go well with your skin tone. It should have a hint of pink in the hue.
GMA: How To Apply Bronzer
How should you apply Bronzer? Here are a few simple steps you can remember.
- Grab a wide brush. Smile.
- Locate the apple of the cheek.
- Blend bronzer up, but also blend it down.
- Touch it up on the forehead, nose, chin, and neck.
Good Morning America: What To Apply On Top of Bronzer
“You just want to tint the skin,” Brown said. Don’t simply apply it to the cheek. You can add blush or shimmer on top. But the key is to go for a natural look, no matter what time of year you are using bronzer.
