Dr Oz: Women Who Look Half Their Age
Dr Oz was thrilled to introduce four women who he claims “cracked the code” to defy their age and look years younger. The women not only looked younger, as young as half their age, but thanks to incredible technology, Dr Oz revealed that their skin was actually healthier than typical skin their age.
Dr Oz: Anti-Aging Beauty Secrets
Noreen is 45 but according to the VISIA skin scanner, her skin’s real age is 26 which is truly remarkable! So what’s her secret? Noreen eats a lot of anti-inflammatory foods like blueberries. Meli is 50-years-old but her skin’s real age is 35. She certainly didn’t look 50! Meli loves a flower facial made from sunflower oil and evening primrose oil. She also practices the “dunk and hold” after she washes her face in the morning. She dunks her face into a bucket of ice water for 10-15 seconds.
Then there was Candace, a 59-year-old woman who looked absolutely flawless! Her skin was found to have a real age of 41 but in my opinion she looked even better than that! Her secret is a phyto-nutrient. She loves a wheat grass shot in the morning with a dash of cayenne pepper.
Finally, Vera is 71-years-old and looking absolutely fabulous, so what could her secret possibly be? Well according to the VISIA skin scanner her skin’s real age is 52 and Vera said vegetables were her secret. But not just any vegetables, Vera eats stewed prunes regularly.
Dr Oz: What’s Your Skin’s Real Age
With the help of Dr Oz’s partners at Share Care, he wanted to help his viewers at home find out their own skin’s real age. You can do just that by taking the quiz below:
- Do you have bags under your eyes?
- Small ones
- Distinct bags
- Do you see crow’s feet at the outer corner of your eyes?
- Yes, slight lines
- Yes, marked lines
- Do you see smile lines from the corner of your nostrils to your mouth?

- Yes, very clear lines
To calculate your skin’s real age, start at your actual age (35 and older) then subtract 5 years for every number 1 answer, change nothing for every number 2 answer, and add 5 years for every number 3 answer.
Dr Oz: Lobsters & Aging
Dr Oz then surprised his audience a bit when he brought out two rather large lobsters. He explained that although they can live to be 140 years old, their outer shell gets renewed as they age. So how can you take what’s learned from studying lobsters and harness the secret to fighting aging. Dr Oz introduced his 91-year-old father and asked about his secret to staying young. Dr Oz believes two of his secrets are family and passion.
Dr Oz: Fight Aging From The Inside-Out
He then spoke to Nobel Prize-winning researcher Dr Elizabeth Blackburn who explained that there are ways we can actually trick our DNA to fight aging, including reducing stress and getting enough sleep. Dr Elissa Epel explained that telomeres, which are found on the end of DNA strands, are important because they help the cell stay alive, young, and divide into new cells that replenish our tissues and keep us young as we age.
Dr Blackburn explained that it has been discovered that food is important to rejuvenate telomeres. Those telomeres have to be working properly to allow cells of all types to keep renewing. There are age-defying foods and aging foods. Aging foods are the foods you think of as unhealthy and processed, while age-defying foods are fruits, vegetables, beans, seaweed, and fish. Dr Blackburn and Dr Epel are the authors of “The Telomere Effect.”
Dr Oz then wanted to help his viewers learn how to love their skin, no matter their age and what they see when they look in the mirror.
Dr Oz: Understand The Aging Process
You want to look as good on the outside as you feel on the inside, right? Dermatologist Dr Whitney Bowe explained that aging can make women feel vulnerable and almost as if they’re losing control. That’s why she encourages women to educate themselves on the aging process and the tools available to reverse some of those signs of aging. Dr Bowe recommends Number 7 Lift and Luminate Triple Action Serum, which can help improve the appearance of wrinkles, help firm the skin, and even improve skin tone.
