Molly Nover-Baker, the beauty director of Women’s Health, said that women spend countless dollars on beauty products, but now the web is exposing that you can save a lot of money and get the same results from baking soda.
Dr Oz: Baking Soda Dry Shampoo
You can use Baking Soda as a replacement for Dry Shampoo, if your hair seems to be oily no matter what you have tried. Baking Soda can work as a dry shampoo to soak up excess oil without even getting your hair wet.
Sprinkle baking soda on your hair along the part. Tousle it with your fingers and fluff it with a hair dryer, which also helps to shake off any excess.
When it comes to hair care, Baking Soda can also create volume. Put shampoo in your hand and mix it with a quarter-size amount of baking soda. This will help to remove residue, grease, oil, and dirt from your hair. It will not be weighed down when you dry it.
Dr Oz: Baking Soda Acne Fighting Mask
For those who have Acne, Baking Soda can be your new best friend. When other products aren’t giving you the results you want, you may have turned to makeup. Acne products can cost $20-50 or more.
Make an Acne Fighting Mask with baking soda and honey to absorb excess oil and balance the skin, while smoothing and clearing the skin.
Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with 1 1/2 tablespoons of honey. Apply this mixture to your face for 10-15 minutes. Add water if you need to help it liquify, but don’t make it too thin. Don’t try this treatment more than about once per week.
Dr Oz: Baking Soda Homemade Whitening Toothpaste Remedy
Baking Soda can also replace expensive teeth whitening strips or systems. Coffee fans could begin to notice staining. Molly Nover-Baker said that the cost for whitening can be $40 or higher. But you can use Baking Soda as a breath freshening whitener when you make your own toothpaste.
Add three parts baking soda to one part smashed strawberries and one part lemon juice. This combination will remove stains and plaque while providing flavor. Store the extra in the fridge in a sealed container and use it as your toothpaste twice a day.
