Dr Oz: Guinness World Record for Most Cosmetic Procedures
How far would you go to look younger? Dr. Oz says more and more women are going to extremes to look younger, but at what cost? Dr. Oz sits down with the woman who holds the Guinness World Record for most cosmetic surgeries to discuss why she does it and if she will ever stop.
Dr Oz: Body Dysmorphic Disorder

Dr Oz talked to the Guinness World Record holder for most cosmetic surgeries, but when is it enough?
Dr. Oz sat down with Cindy, the woman who holds the Guinness World Record for most cosmetic procedures, along with Dr. Drew Pinsky and plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn to discuss cosmetic surgery. Cindy says she remembers looking in the mirror at the age of 33 and not liking what she saw, which is when she began her obsession with cosmetic surgery to improve her appearance.
She had her first procedure in 1980, and countless ones since, but she says that they have always been on different body parts and for the sole purpose of enhancing her looks. Dr. Youn says that while Cindy has certainly had a lot of cosmetic procedures done to her body, it is more common than you might think because he sees women all the time who want to “fix” something on their body.
Dr. Drew Pinsky says his biggest concern is with women who suffer from Body Dysmorphic Disorder, which is a condition where a person becomes obsessed with their appearance and has repeat procedures done on the same body parts. He is also concerned within his own field of drug addiction because he often sees patients who will get cosmetic surgery as a way to get drugs to feed their opiate addiction, which Dr. Drew says is more common than you might think.
Dr Oz: Is General Anesthesia Safe?
Dr. Oz says that as a surgeon he is always concerned when he puts a patient under with general anesthesia because it is just like rolling dice, so the fact that Cindy has chosen cosmetic surgery 14 times in the past 27 years is something that he worries about. Cindy admits she does not enjoy the need for anesthesia, but she refers to is as an “occupational hazard” because she wants what is on the other side of the anesthesia, which is to look better.
Dr Youn calls cosmetic surgery the “Wild West” of medicine because you can never be sure that your surgeon has your best interest at heart or if they are just seeing dollar signs, which Dr. Drew Pinsky finds to be very sad. Dr. Youn agrees, which is why he always recommends a patient get the least amount of work done as possible because most people never regret what they did not do, but they often regret it when they do too much.
Dr Oz: The Cost of Too Much Cosmetic Surgery
Cindy, age 58, says she wants to look as young as possible for as long as possible and if that means getting more procedures then that is what she will do. She tells Dr. Oz that she has spent between $80,000 and $90,000 on cosmetic procedures over the years and if she needs something that she is not happy with in the future then she will spend even more money to “fix” it because looking young is what matter most to her.
