Dr Oz: Secrets To Looking Years Younger
Dr Oz was thrilled to unlock the secrets to looking years younger and defy aging. As you age, the outer layer of your skin begins to thin out as the result of your body producing less collagen. The skin then sags and wrinkles and the number of cells containing pigment decreases, which gives your skin a thinner, paler look. The sebaceous glands found under the hair follicles produce less oil, which makes your skin dryer and prone to cracking. Additionally, changes in your skin’s connective tissue reduces its elasticity, causing even more sagging and wrinkling.
Fortunately, many experts claim you can defy your age and fight those signs of getting older. Dr Sharon Moalem, a scientist, geneticist, and physician, explained that when it comes to your skin, the better you take care of it, the better you will age. Dr Jeanine Downie, a dermatologist, explained that if you change your lifestyle, behavior patterns, and diet, it can truly enhance what you have for a lifetime.

Dr Oz: Healthy Fats To Reduce Sagging Skin
The first step is to improve elasticity and reduce sagging and the secret is to eat healthy fats. When you eat healthy fats high in antioxidants, it allows the skin to recover from damage that already occurred, while preventing future damage. One of the best foods you can eat is Kalamata olives. All you need is just 2-3 Kalamata olives per day to reap the benefits. You’re much better off eating the olives than using olive oil if you want to fight aging.
Dr Oz: Fight Aging With Hyaluronic Acid & Exercise
You also want to use hyaluronic acid to moisturize twice a day to plump your skin, reduce wrinkles, fight sagging, and improve overall skin tone. Additionally, just moderate exercise 20-30 minutes three times a week can help you look years younger, thanks to an increase in collagen. Research has also shown that music can help motivate you to get up and move and stay moving, so make a playlist and get active!
Dr Oz: Potatoes To Fight Aging
Next, Dr Oz revealed that surprisingly, the potato could be the one food you should turn to if you want to fight aging. Potatoes contain antioxidants that help with aging. You’ll likely want to eat a medium-sized potato every day, but, of course, stay away from french fries! To get the most benefit, pick the potatoes with the deepest colored flesh, like purple, yellow, and blue. The antioxidants in the potatoes are similar to those in berries.
You also want to be sure to eat the skin because it has benefits all their own. A lot of people will peel then boil the potatoes, which actually pulls those vitamins into the water. Instead, boil the potatoes with the skin on before removing the skin, and then re-use that cooking water for other recipes, like soup. Dr Moalem advised viewers to eat potatoes with fat, like butter, full-fat milk, or olive oil, to help you get the fat-soluble phytochemicals into your body.
