Dr Oz: Is Dry Skin Worse During The Winter?
When it comes to dry skin, there are a lot of myths, which is why Dr Oz wanted to tackle two of the biggest ones. On behalf of The Dr Oz Show‘s partnership with Eucerin, Dr Oz welcomed dermatologist Dr Elizabeth Tanzi. First, one woman admitted that she thought dry skin was only an issue during the winter. Dr Tanzi explained that it’s actually a myth, because there are a lot of conditions throughout the year that can lead to dry skin.
During colder months, we have wind, dry indoor heat, and hotter shower, which can all strip the skin of its natural oils. But in the warmer months, there’s more sun exposure, salt, chlorine, and other factors that can dry out the skin as well.
