Denise wanted to help women stop fat shaming themselves. First, Andrea from the audience said she often had difficulty with T-shirts. She said she’s a curvy girl, but her waist is smaller and her bust size is larger. This means it’s difficult to find a shirt that fits well both for her waist and her bust.
Denise said the key is to have a great bra. This will help your breasts to sit right. The other tip is to go a size up on your shirt.
Denise sent Andrea into the dressing room to find a great shirt. Andrea came out with a shirt that fit and she looked really good in it. It was also a bright blue, which was a nice pop of color.
Dr. Oz: Finding the Right Jeans
Next, there was Tiffany, who fat shames herself when she puts on jeans. She said that she always has issues with finding the right pair. Denise said she wanted jeans that stretch and have a great color. Denise said for Tiffany, it’s a good idea to wear jeans that have a contour effect. Darker on the outsides, so that it slims the thighs and the backside.
Dr. Oz: Find a Curvy Translation
Denise said it’s important to find your “curvy translation” if you’re a curvy girl trying to emulate a trend or something a celebrity wore. As an example, Dr. Oz showed a picture of a dress Jennifer Lopez recently wore on American Idol, which was black with cutouts on the side.
Lauren is a curvy woman and she wanted her curvy translation of this. She found a great black and white dress that was somewhat similar. Denise said she took Lauren to Kohl’s for the dress. She got her shapewear to slenderize her hips and then found the dress.
Lauren said she felt great in the dress. She said with Denise’s help, the dressing room was no longer a scary place. Dr. Oz asked the audience if there were any male candidates for drinks with Lauren. One guy in the audience raised his hand. “Oh, there’s one right there! They’re signing up already,” Dr. Oz said.
“Dr. Oz, you’re not only a doctor, you’re a doctor of love, huh?” Denise Caldwell joked.
