Dr Oz: Anti-Aging Foods
When you look in the mirror, what is your biggest aging complaint? Dr Oz invited a dermatologist and a food expert to help him share an Anti-Aging Diet that he said can start to change your appearance in just one week.
You are what you eat, according to dietitian Kristin Kirkpatrick, who said that the effects of your diet will reveal themselves on your skin. She even said that the food you eat can be “nature’s skin cream.” Rather than investing in high-end products, she said you may get better results by following a healthy diet.
Dr Oz: Pumpkin Seeds Red Skin Remedy
Red Skin is a big complaint from patients, and Kristin said that it’s a result of not getting enough vitamins and minerals from your food. She said that 1/4 cup Unshelled Pumpkin Seeds a few times per week is an amazing remedy for this because of their Zinc content. This reduces inflammation and blemishes.
Dr Oz: Salmon Dry Skin Remedy
Dry Skin is another common issue, and Kristin told Dr Oz’s audience that you can eat Salmon to get more Omega-3 Fatty Acids that will moisturize the skin and maintain elasticity, even helping to keep your hair healthy.
Dr Oz: Vitamin C Fruits
Sometimes the creams you find in a drugstore or department store may not quite do the trick or deliver your desired results. Dermatologist Dr Ellen Marmur said you can reverse some of that sun damage by consuming more Vitamin C.
Great sources of Vitamin C in food include Bell Peppers, which are actually fruits (that’s why they have seeds). Other fruit options to get your skin-boosting Vitamin C are Strawberries and Pineapples.
Dr Oz: Cucumber for Eye Bags
Dr Oz himself has a problem with bags under the eyes. He asked for a solution to this problem, and Dr Marmur said that the eye skin is already thinner, and this becomes more of a problem as you age, sometimes resulting in wrinkles.
Drink plenty of Cucumber Water, she said. Try to get about eight glasses a day, and you can even apply cucumber slices directly to your eyes for relief. Try consuming more of these foods to target the areas you want to improve, and let us know about your results!
