Dr Oz: One Day Reset Plan
Dr Oz welcomed Biggest Loser trainer and author Jen Widerstrom who explained that she doesn’t thinking over-indulging or binging is a mistake, but rather a part of life. However, it shouldn’t happen every day or every week. Fortunately this plan can help get you on the right track to avoid it happening again too soon.

First, Jen shared her mantra: “Strive for progress, not perfection.” Now lets get to the details of the One-Day Reset Plan, on the next page…
Dr Oz: Herbal Water Blends
As for the 24-hour reset program, Jen broke it into four phases. Phase one is to hydrate first thing in the morning. Jen believes “water is the elixir of life” and likes to sit a glass of water on her bathroom counter when she goes to bed at night. That way first thing in the morning upon waking she will go to the bathroom and drink 10-20 ounces of water before doing anything else.
Dr Oz: Water Jug Labels
From there, you’ll want to make an herbal water blend using an empty gallon jug. That jug has to be finished by the end of the day. One trick to make that easier is to actually label the jug. Jen wrote a schedule on the outside of her jugs with 2-hour increments marked, to make sure she’s on track to drink 64-100 ounces each day. You can make a coaching or cheering label for on your water bottle that says the following:
7 am – good morning
9 am – drink it up!
11 am – don’t stop now
1 pm – yeah girl!
3 pm – you’ve got this
5 pm – almost there
7 pm – woop woop!
9 pm – treat yo self!
Dr Oz: Dandelion Leaf Tea & Milk Thistle Tea Make You Poop
Instead of plain water, Jen suggested using non-caffeinated tea bags like dandelion leaf and root tea or milk thistle tea. They work as natural laxatives to get things moving through your digestive system.
Dr Oz: Spinach & Beet Liquid Breakfast Recipe
Once you’re prepared to get the bad stuff out, you want to make sure you’re putting good stuff into your body. Jen recommended her spinach and beet liquid breakfast. To make this detoxifying breakfast, blend the following ingredients:
- 1 1/2 C fresh spinach
- 1/2 banana
- 1 C chopped beets
- juice of 1 lemon
- 3/4 C chopped cucumber
- 1 1/2 C unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 tbsp flaxseed
Dr Oz: Algae Tablets for Energy Boost
Phase two of the reset plan comes in the late morning and early afternoon when you need to energize. Jen noticed that a lot of people tend to try to restrict food after overdoing it on the weekend, which means they’re not left with enough energy. Instead, avoid the rebound using algae tablets. It’s a plant-based protein and Jen takes it every day twice a day in the mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Dr Oz, hilariously, chewed a tablet, but you can just as easily swallow it down with some water.
Dr Oz: Mason Jar Salad Recipe
Then for lunch, Jen likes a combination of protein and fat. She created a salad in a mason jar by layering the following ingredients:
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 C arugula
- 1/2 chopped avocado
- 2 hard-boiled eggs
- pinch each salt & pepper
