Dr Oz: Grapefruit Detox For Weight Loss

Nutritionist Kellyann Petrucci explained that the detox is about losing weight by eating food with the grapefruit. That means no starving! It was found that certain foods work with the fruit to help boost weight loss to help you shed fat faster, without going hungry.
Dr Oz: Should You Try A Grapefruit Detox?
The following are reasons the new grapefruit detox is worth a try:
- It can boost your metabolism & improve your mood
- The grapefruit is high in fiber which means you stay fuller longer without bloating
- It can help control your blood sugar to avoid cravings and crashes
If done correctly, you can lose up to a half a pound to a pound per day, which is remarkable. You’ll also notice less bloating while boosting your immunity thanks to all the vitamin C. The main rule of the detox is to eat a half a grapefruit at every meal. You can either eat it paired with a meal or in a juice.
Dr Oz then spoke to Hayley and Michelle who tried the grapefruit detox. Hayley has lost nine pounds in just seven days and gained so much more energy. Michelle lost seven pounds in seven days and says she wants to keep going with the plan.

The formula for breakfast on the detox is the following:
1/2 grapefruit + 4-oz protein = breakfast
That means you can pair the grapefruit with apple sausage, bacon, eggs, or other delicious forms of protein. Kellyann explained that your brain loves the natural sugars in the grapefruit and the protein helps balance your blood sugar. What a great way to start the day.
