Dr Oz: Make Dieting Less Lonely
When Dr Oz polled women across the country about dieting, 65% revealed they believe dieting is lonely. He introduced four gym buddies from Connecticut who each lost half their body weight for a combined weight loss of 422 pounds. Even more interesting was that the women actually didn’t know each other before going to the gym. They met each other at a group class, which is why Amy, who lost 104 pounds, suggests everyone try a group exercise class.
Dr Oz: Support System For Weight Loss Motivation
Arlene, who lost 90 pounds, suggested you start a group text chat. She began one for the four women and nicknamed them the “fit fam,” using the group text to encourage and motivate each other while also keeping in touch. Brooke, who lost 120 pounds, shared that she lost 60 pounds on her own, before losing another 60 with her fit fam. She said the weight loss with the group was much more rewarding for her because of the support system.
Brooke suggested men and women celebrate outside the gym. Dr Oz asked her what she would say if one of her friends ordered a pizza, and she responded “can I have some of that?” Cute!
Sheena was labelled the “strong” member of the group, joking that she’s the oldest but also the most vocal one. She suggested you go for a free training session to get you started. A lot of times a gym will offer a free training session with a new membership. Those trainers can also become lifelong friends.
Dr Oz: Fitness Family Training For Tough Mudder
Speaking of trainers, Dr Oz spoke to Carlos, Brandon, and Zack, the three trainers who helped the four women lose weight. They’ve been helping the women get ready for the Tough Mudder. Dr Oz surprised all four of them by revealing that after the Tough Mudder group heard their story, they waved their registration fees. Dr Oz made them t-shirts to wear, revealing that he would be following their journey.
