Chris has helped lots of people in his career and there’s one person that has changed him. He shared the story of Georgana, a person Chris helped on Extreme Weight Loss, who let her health take a backseat while she was raising her children and went on a journey with Chris Powell to lose the weight over the course of a year.
She had an amazing transformation. She lost 165 pounds. Georgana said that her big excuse for not losing the weight was trying to be Super Mom. She worked full time, went to PTA meetings, and put her kids first. Because she and her husband had their kids young, they planned to travel and do a lot of fun things when they graduated. But when they did, she weighed 315 pounds and didn’t think it was fun at all.
Chris Powell said that weight loss is an individual’s journey and he couldn’t have lost a pound for Georgana. All he did was lay out the path and push her on her way. That means anyone else can do what Georgana did, too, even on their own without Chris Powell’s help.
Dr. Oz: The Stallman Family Update
Dr. Oz also gave us an update on the Stallman Family, the family who made the commitment to try to lose weight with the help of Dr. Mark Hyman and Dr. Oz.
The mother Bridget has lost 55 pounds since August and the father lost 53 pounds. All of the kids each lost over 50 pounds, too. Bridget said they’ve changed their whole lives and their diet. The youngest daughter is even going to take a ballet class! All together, the Stallman Family lost 335 pounds. They’ve also significantly reduced their inflammation levels.
Their secret was a support system. All of them supported each other on their journey.
Dr. Oz: Lowering Cholesterol & Losing Weight
Dr. Oz also had an update on Jeri, a working mom with 15 kids who put everyone else’s needs before her own. Dr. Oz introduced Jeri to bestselling nutritionist Haylie Pomroy, author of The Fast Metabolism Diet, who put her on the Real Woman’s Guide to Weight Loss. This helped her make small changes to empower and enhance her metabolism.
In just two weeks, Jeri lost 11 pounds. She said she already felt so much better. To date, after just five weeks, she’s lost 44 pounds. Before she lost the weight, her good cholesterol (HDL) was 24, which should have been more than 60. Now, her cholesterol is 82. The bad cholesterol (LDL) number was 230, which should have been ideally under 100. Now, her cholesterol is at 79.
Haylie said that Jeri was able to lose the weight and change her cholesterol numbers so greatly because she treated the cause of the high cholesterol directly by changing her diet and living a much healthier life.
