Dr Oz: Weight Loss Struggles
Dr Oz welcomed three women who were ready to get real about the struggles of losing weight. He welcomed Rinata, Renee, and Yamaneika Saunders. Dr Oz also polled 1,000 people to find out how they felt about dieting, food, and weight loss. Mike Berland, author of “Become A Fat-Burning Machine,” also wanted to help women discover what it is that will really help them get to where they need to be.
Dr Oz: Why Summer Could Be Your Time To Diet
Dr Oz asked those who took the poll what time of the year they were most motivated to lose weight. It turns out that 61% of people said they were most motivated in the summer. Dr Oz also wanted to know if it was easier or harder to go on a diet during the summer, compared to other times of the year. If you ask me, I would say yes, because the bikini motivation is there, as well as outdoor activities! It turns out that 57% of those polled said it was easier to diet in the summer.
On top of that, 75% of people say they feel worse about their body in the summer, while only 52% said they actually look forward to bikini season. Rinata acknowledged that we’re all trying to look good for ourselves, not for other people, and sometimes we just don’t feel as confident as we’d like.
Dr Oz: Foods That Help You Burn More Fat
Next, Dr Oz revealed that 75% of people said they believed freedom in dieting was more effective than restriction, while 57% said dieting in the summer was easier compared to other times of the year. That’s exactly why Dr Oz then wanted to reveal the top 10 fat burning summer foods to get you started.
Mike Berland lost 70 pounds, but had a hard time, especially because of metabolic syndrome, in which his body is more designed to store fat than to burn it. He had to change his diet, so he spoke to doctors, trainers, and nutritionists, to find out more about fat-burning foods that could help him lose weight. Mike no longer counts calories, but instead eats the right foods for his body.
Dr Oz: Fat-Burning Foods
So what are those fat-burning foods? Produce came first, with Mike explaining that he regularly consumes limes, tomatoes, and blueberries. Mike loves to make a salad out of spinach leaves, diced turkey, blueberries, balsamic vinegar, and pecans. It takes just seconds to make and is delicious!
The next two fat-burning foods were proteins: oysters and shrimp. Mike prepares them both on the grill with lime juice! Next was cottage cheese and Greek yogurt, which are great for filling you up while helping you slim down. As for condiments, Mike loves sriracha, pico de gallo, and tahini, because you can mix them and eat them in practically unlimited quantities. He often makes a dip out of full-fat fat Greek yogurt and salsa or pico de gallo to make an incredibly flavorful and healthy dip.
Dr Oz: USANA Skin Care For Healthy Skin
Speaking of looking good in the summer, Dr Oz also did a quick segment on taking care of your skin for a healthier, more youthful glow. Dawn McCoy, a beauty expert, explaining that simple things done every day are the key to healthy skin. It’s all about the collagen in your skin, which is why you need to take care of the fibers within your skin. Many people turn to creams and lotions hoping they will help, only to be disappointed.
Dawn loves USANA skin care products because they work, have proven to work, and use ingredients that are truly good for your skin. Hundreds of thousands of people have turned to USANA products with joyous results. The key to a healthy skin care regimen is to first cleanse your face. Wet your skin first and then apply a cleanser in a circular motion. Rinse with warm water then pat dry with a towel. No rubbing allowed! Then, use a toner for smooth-looking skin, with a damp cotton ball. Third, moisturize every morning but remember less is more!
