Dr. Oz: Difficulty Losing Weight
Dr. Oz talked to a woman who can’t seem to lose weight no matter what she does. She’s been losing the same 10 pounds no matter what she does, since high school. She said she wasn’t sure if it was her thyroid or her metabolism. She didn’t know how to fix either one if it was.
She said she starts her day with a granola bar and fat-free yogurt. She eats healthy snacks like popcorn. She drinks lemon water throughout the day and eats small portions at meals. She’s a writer who works from home and so she does what she can to get some activity in.
She’s raising a 5-year-old, so that gives her plenty of exercise. She also tries to take walks every 90 minutes. She’ll dance while folding laundry and cleaning. But she can’t seem to find whatever the magic key is to finally lose the weight.
She described her metabolism as a “roller coaster from hell.”
Dr. Oz: Thyroid Causing Weight Loss Problems?
That’s why Jacqueline came by Dr. Oz to discuss the frustration and find an answer. She said she watches Dr. Oz and uses his tips. She does all the weight loss steps but nothing happens. She described it as “like working with no paycheck.” Where’s the fun in that?
Dr. Oz took her to the Truth Tube. He worried she might have a thyroid issue. But it turns out her thyroid hormones are normal. But if it’s not the thyroid, what is it?
Dr. Oz: What is a Slow Metabolism?
Dr. Oz worried that Jacqueline might be eating more than she thinks she’s eating. So they had her keep track of what she ate. With her height and body size, she should be eating 1,650 calories to maintain her weight. Jacqueline was taking 1,473 calories, so it’s actually less. She should be losing weight.
So what’s really going on here? It turns out it might be her metabolism. How do you reboot the metabolism and revitalize your health to turn yourself into a weight loss machine? Dr. Oz had a slow metabolism plan.
