Dr Oz: Green Detox Soup For Weight Loss
Next, Dr Oz revealed the latest detox diet claiming to be the key to helping you shed weight fast while flushing toxins. It’s known as the Green Detox Soup, but does it really work? Reportedly, women will drink the green soup and only the soup three times a day, for three months. One woman lost 20 pounds, but gained it all back and then some pretty quickly afterward.
Registered dietitian Ashley Koff pointed out that this diet calls for you to eat just 300 calories per day, which means your body isn’t getting the nutrients you need. The truth is that while the ingredients are great, the soup is just missing some protein! That’s exactly why Dr Oz was inspired to his own, healthier version of a Green Detox Soup. Dr Oz: Green Detox Soup Recipe Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic – chopped
- 3 C broccoli
- 2 parsnips – peeled, cored, chopped
- 1 handful fresh parsley – roughly chopped
- sea salt – to taste
- lemon or lime juice
- 1/2 C frozen berries, chopped sweet potato chunks, or chopped carrots per serving
- 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil
- 2 tbsp diced onion
- 1/2 lb spinach leaves
- 2 ribs celery – trimmed, chopped
- fresh water – as needed
- ground pepper – to taste
- 2 tbsp plat-based protein per serving (cashews, lentils, hemp seeds, or almonds)
Dr Oz: Green Detox Soup Recipe Directions
- Fry the onions and garlic in a stockpot
- Add water and chopped ingredients to the pot
- Boil until soft
- Pour into a blender, then blend together
- Ladle the soup into bowls, then add 2 tbsp of plant-based protein and a half-cup of color to each serving
