Dr. Oz: Overcoming Constipation
Dr. Oz has been talking to a woman named Grace about her nervous stomach. He introduced her to Dr. Roshini Raj, a gastroenterologist, who had a plan to help her overcome her issue. Anxiety can cause three problems with the GI system: diarrhea, constipation, and nausea. Dr. Raj said that a lot of people ignore the underlying issue of their GI problems, which is often stress and anxiety. But another key factor is addressing each of the individual GI symptoms head-on.

Sybil from the audience suffers from constipation and it’s very uncomfortable for her. Dr. Raj recommended flaxseed, because it has fiber and a lot of Omega-3 fatty acids, which are great for the lining of the intestinal wall.
To eat flaxseed, you can add it to a smoothie, eat it whole, or grind it up and sprinkle it on a salad or a sandwich. You can also use it as a substitute for egg by adding 2 tablespoons water and 2 tablespoons flaxseed in place of 1 egg.
Dr. Oz: How to Beat Nausea
Debra from the audience suffers from nausea. She’s tried a lot of the over-the-counter remedies and a few natural things her dad suggested. Dr. Raj said that nausea is one of the worst feelings out there. She suggested Debra eat ginger, because it can relax the stomach. One way to eat it is to make a homemade ginger and lemon juice ice pop by freezing lemon juice, ginger, and water in a popsicle mold.
Dr. Oz: End Diarrhea Once and For All
Grace gets diarrhea when she’s nervous and Dr. Oz said that’s what he gets when he’s nervous, too. Dr. Raj suggested Grace eat some green bananas, the unripened ones. Eat it cooked with a little brown sugar about 30 minutes before a meal. It’s a great source of nutrients and it will help slow things down in your intestines and help bind the waste together.
