Dr Oz: What Causes Leaky Gut Syndrome?
Dr. Robynne Chutkan, a gastroenterologist, explained that when food is in your gut it is not actually in your body because the gut is like a hollow tube that serves as a passageway from your mouth to your anus. She said that nutrients are absorbed through the gut and into the body, but when a person has a leaky gut, things like chemicals and toxins that should not be in the body are leaked out into the bloodstream, which then trigger certain symptoms.
Dr. Oz demonstrated how when we eat the foods that are right for us, they go into the intestines then are released into our body and converted to energy. When we eat foods unknowingly that are toxic to our body, they enter the intestines, but then begin to create holes where chemicals are released and begin to cause problems for our immune system. Dr. Oz said this literally causes a war inside your body because while your immune cells are trying to fight off the bad stuff, they begin to cause problems with your joints and other areas of your body.
Dr Oz: Leaky Gut Triggers
Dr. Robynne Chutkan said there are some specific triggers to look out for that could cause a problem for your body and lead to Leaky Gut Syndrome. Dr. Oz said patients have more control of these triggers than their doctors ever could since they know what they are putting into their bodies on a daily basis. He believes it needs to be a team effort in order to diagnose and treat the problem. Could you have Leaky Gut Syndrome and not even know it?
- Food Allergy or Sensitivity
- Antibiotics
- Excessive Use of NSAIDs
- High Sugar Diet
- Parasites

Looking into having this test done since I experience a lot of the symptoms for a few years now.
My doctor refuses to do it, and when I call the laboratories no one knows the name. I’ve tried under Leaky gut, Intestinal Impermeability, and Lactulose/mannitol with no luck.
Could you please let me know the exact name of the test or the lab code so i can ask another doctor for it?
Thank you

Thanks for sharing this, I think I have leaky gut but in Italy the doctors don’t think food could be related with pain or a disease. I’d like to know please the name of the Chinese herbs Mrss Meadows gave to Shepperd.
Thank you!! <3
