Dr Oz: Where Did Your Cleanse Go Wrong
Have you recently fallen off the healthy eating or weight loss bandwagon? You could be considering a cleanse as a way to jump start or reboot your diet. The truth is, as Dr Oz stated, too many of us are going about cleanses all wrong. Juice cleanses are more popular than ever and are now part of a $5 billion business. However, too many people are complaining that cleanses are leaving them cranky, craving food, and wasting money.
It’s time to find out where you’re going wrong and bust some myths too many people still believe.

Unlike what you may have heard, a cleanse likely won’t shrink your stomach, help you lose weight, or give you long-lasting energy. The good news is that Dr Oz claimed to have the one and only cleanse you’ll ever need. He was excited to show his viewers how to get the most out of their cleanse to avoid going broke or hungry. He asked several women devoted to juice cleanses to join him to discuss their issues with cleanses.
Dr Oz: Get More Fiber During A Cleanse
Dr Oz first pointed out that the reason so many people are going hungry on a juice cleanse is because the fiber is removed when the fruit or vegetables are juiced. A few people from Dr Oz’s medical team visited a local juice shop and discovered a barrel full of pulp that contains all the fiber, left over from what was juiced. That pulp never made it to customers!
Dr Oz suggested that if you make a homemade juice, take the pulp and mix it into a healthy snack like guacamole to go with your juice, that way you’re less likely to go hungry while still eating healthy.
Dr Oz: Lose Weight On A Cleanse
One woman found that she actually gained weight while on a cleanse, and Dr Oz explained that it was likely because she wasn’t getting enough protein. You need protein in order to grow muscles and the more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism will be. The faster your metabolism, the more calories you burn throughout the day!
You can actually incorporate soups into a cleanse to really reap the benefits. Dr Oz suggested adding vegetables, especially peas, to your soup to get added protein.
Dr Oz then recognized that many people go on a cleanse in hopes of ridding their body of unhealthy “toxins.” He explained that too many people are wasting money in hopes of detoxing, when they’re not actually doing anything. The truth is that your body can actually detox itself.
He asked the women to bravely reveal what was happening in the bathroom. He explained that you should actually encourage poop to come out frequently, and the best way to make yourself more regular is with probiotics.
Dr Oz: Perfect 3-Day Cleanse
If you’re worried about the cost of a cleanse, Dr Oz has just the 3-day cleanse you need. His cleanse has fiber to keep you full, protein to boost metabolism, probiotics to help with digestion, and it can all be done for about half the price of a typical cleanse.
The first thing you’ll want is a breakfast juice to start your day, and all you need is fruits and vegetables and then you need a fat-booster that will also help with inflammation. Dr Oz suggested nut butter, avocado, or coconut oil. Finally, you want a probiotic base which you can get from kefir, yogurt, or others. The good news is that you can easily just use a regular blender to put your drink together!
For the other two meals of the day, you’ll want to turn to cleansing soups for a meal that is warm and filling.
