Dr. Oz: 1 Week Slim Down
Dr. Oz showed off his 1-Week Slim Down diet on the show today. This is the diet for the people who planned to lose weight before a special occasion, but didn’t quite get there. How can you go to that event in the dress you picked out and get the zipper up?
Dr. Oz talked to a woman named Danica who wants to fit into a certain dress for a big event. She’s been training for a marathon and lost 138 pounds so far, but she’s hit a wall and she needs to lose 25 more pounds.
“The only way to lose 25 pounds in one week is an amputation,” Dr. Oz joked.
That said, this diet isn’t so much about the pounds as it is about the inches. Liquid diets can be bad because you usually don’t get enough nutrients. Some other people may use water pills, but Dr. Oz advises against it. You can hurt your organs doing this, because they need those vital fluids.
Dr. Oz: Drink a Smoothie in the Morning
Dr. Oz said there are three things to help you lose inches in one week around the midsection. There’s dealing with water weight, bloat, and constipation.
First, to take care of these problems, have a smoothie with banana, flax seed oil, protein powder, soy milk, ice, and papaya or pineapple or both. Papaya and pineapple will stimulate your digestion and move things along. You’ll digest more efficiently.
Dr. Oz: Eat Soluble Fiber to Slim Down
To make sure the waste gets out in an efficient way, you need plenty of fiber. There’s soluble and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber will suck out cholesterol and bad things inside of you, but for this one-week diet, you don’t want to concentrate on that. Instead, eat insoluble fiber.
Insoluble fiber will help pull out all the bad stuff in a quick, efficient way. This will help you squeeze into your dress fine. For this, focus on eating things like blackberries, spinach, blueberries, and beets.
