Dr. Oz: Stallman Family Diet
Dr. Oz had an update on the Stallman family, who agreed to change their lives forever by losing weight together. The Stallman family has six members: the mom and dad and four kids. Dr. Oz asked them to detox for 10 days by cutting out all the bad stuff. Now, they were back to talk about it.
Dr. Oz: 10 Day Detox

Dr. Oz caught up with the Stallman family to find out how their 10 Day Detox went and what it did for their health.
All of the family members said they had trouble with cutting off the caffeine from the sodas. The mom, Bridget, ran a fever and didn’t feel good on the second day. One of the boys, Mike. Jr., tried to keep drinking soda without other people finding out. But his mom found the soda cans under the bed.
The youngest, Mia, who is 11, went to a birthday party and couldn’t have cake. She was really sad about it. Another daughter, Savannah, was ready to quit after six days. She felt like she had the flu and was feeling bad. But they reached out for help to Dr. Mark Hyman, the nutritionist Dr. Oz gave them to help them out, and he was able to encourage her to continue.
Ultimately, at the end of the 10 days, everyone felt really good.
Dr. Oz: How Did The Diet Improve Their Health?
Bridget said her family really found their strength doing this. The diet the family went on was to eliminate sugar, dairy, caffeine, wheat, and processed foods.
The family’s blood sugar, on average, dropped 18 points each. The last time Bridget was on the show, her blood sugar was in the diabetic range. Going on this diet put her blood sugar back to normal.
Next up was C-Reactive Protein, a way to identify inflammation in the body. Everyone’s CRP levels were lower and Mia and Mike, Senior, both dropped into the normal range.
Then, of course, there’s the weight. The Stallman family had lost a combined 100 pounds, which was an average of 17 pounds per person.
“It’s amazing. I mean, we’re different people,” Bridget said. “We are not focused on eating for entertainment anymore. We’re focused on eating for nutrition and that’s what it’s all about.”
