Dr. Oz: Sugar Can Remove Hair
Dr. Oz talked to Colleen Sparks, an esthetician, who said sugar can help to remove hair. Combine 1/4 cup water, 2 cups sugar, and 1/4 cup lemon juice in a sauce pot on medium heat and cook it until the color becomes a maple syrup-type color. This mixture can remove hair. Colleen warned that if you’re on any prescriptions, your skin may be sensitive to wax. But if you have skin allergies, this is a great alternative.
Make sure to use this mixture while warm. Apply with a tongue depressor to the area and use store-bought strips or fabric to press firmly onto the skin, then rip it off quickly. Colleen did this to Dr. Oz on his leg and he said it hurt less than normal wax.
Dr. Oz: Sugar Can Soothe a Burned Tongue
The next use for sugar is to soothe a burned tongue. Alexandra sent this idea in over Facebook. She said all you have to is place a teaspoon of sugar against the roof of your mouth until it melts. The sugar has allergenic properties, which means it can mitigate the response to pain.

Angela uses sugar on her lips after using lipstick. She lets it sit for 10 seconds and then wipes it off. This helps the lipstick stay on longer.
Dr. Oz: Revive a Bitter Cup of Coffee with Salt
Dr. Oz talked to Rosie, who discovered that salt can be used to revive a bitter cup coffee. All you have to do is add a couple pinches of salt to the coffee to reduce the bitterness and acidity. Dr. Oz tested this and he said it was really smooth.
Dr. Oz: Salt to Stop Browning Fruit
Dr. Oz also talked to a woman who uses salt to prevent browning of fruit. If you take a teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of water and you soak the fruit in it after you cut it up, it will preserve it and it won’t turn brown. Who needs the Arctic Apple with this trick?
Dr. Oz: Salt Can Help Chill Wine Faster
Dr. Oz also had a tip from a viewer named Lynn who uses salt in her ice bucket to chill wine faster. The salt reduces the freezing point of the water so the water can get colder without freezing to cool the wine rapidly.
Dr. Oz also revealed that Kathie Lee and Hoda were backstage, waiting to drink the wine in the bucket. They had plenty of great uses for wine as well.
