Dr Oz: Transformation Nation Finalists, Who Did You Vote For?

Dr Oz: Transformation Nation 10 Finalists

You’ve seen Dr Oz talk about his Transformation Nation-Million Dollar You! (Did you join? How much weight did you lose?) On today’s show, with the help of his expert panel, Dr Oz picked the 10 finalists (Stella Ortega, Karl Nielson, Stephanie Lewis-Vance, Mercedes Moebuis, Michael Lamb, Sheila Haines, Sharona Sankar-King, Mary Ellen Brunaugh, Jen McElroy and Dawn Villanueva) who have a chance at winning a million bucks! Dr Oz partnered with Weight Watchers and ShareCare to help you lose over 3 million pounds together. Some finalist revealed triumphant stories of saving their own and loved one’s lives, while others were just happy to be able to fit into their skinny jeans. (Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that either!)

Dr Oz Transformation Nation Winner

Who are you voting for to win the Dr Oz Transformation Nation?

The finalists hailed from all over the country and included busy working moms, hospital employees, sixth grade teachers and even one woman who was a 65-year old grandmother of 7. (Did anyone else think she looked the best, too?)

These 10 finalists proved that it could be done. You can lose the weight while positively transforming your life. Do you have a weight lost story? If so, leave me a message. We would love to hear it.

My brother in law is Karl NIELSEN and of course I am voting for him! But even if I didn’t know Karl, I’d vote for him anyway: Karl has lost a staggering 88 lbs in a short SEVEN months, transforming both his body and his life with Transformation Nation. He’s still losing and wants to get down to 193 lbs as his final goal weight. Karl wants to set up a scholarship fund to reward and encourage healthy lifestyles for the students he teaches and coaches at Greece Arcadia. Karl has lost the most weight of any other finalist and he’s already planning on how to give back to the community. Committed, driven, AND generous – he’s got my vote every day! http://finalists.sharecare.com/finalist/karl+nielsen

Vote for Dawn Villanueva! I know her personally and could not think of a more decent human being to win this contest. Dawn is always giving of herself and thinking of others, she embodies the true spirit of Aloha. Not many people can say they know someone personally who has come this far in this type of journey and I can honestly say voting for Dawn is a good vote, you can rest assured your vote is going towards the nicest person I know.

Please take a moment and watch my story. I am a husband, father, full-time teacher, baseball coach, volunteer judge for the Odyssey of Mind, and a Christian. I have lost a total of 102.6 lbs since September 21, 2012. I have accomplished this by being an active member of Weight Watcher and Dr. Oz’s Transformation Nation. I do not belong to a gym. Like most Americans, I had workout equipment that I seldom used. Once I dedicated to defeating my obesity, I pulled it out and made exercise part of my daily routine. Please consider voting 10 times for me and watch The Doctor Oz Show on May 23.

From the perspective of someone who lost over 50 pounds durring the competition (could have lost more but was trying to curb my weight loss within the rules of the competition) and over 100 pounds in the last year I hope Karl is the winner. While Dr. Oz made the point that it wasn’t supposed to be the biggest “loser” but rather “the biggest number of losers” the fact that some people got on the show losing less than 30 pounds to me is an obscenity. I grant that at 65 losing weight is very difficult and Mary did an amazing job losing her weight but I know of three other top 200 contestants who lost twice her weight but the chosing came down to marketing selection and not anything to do with transformation. The finalists are a majority of women and this I expected, what I didn’t expect was someone who was under 40 and only lost 25 pounds to make the “Finalists”. That is just absurd when 2 other women in her age range that I know of lost nearly double that weight but didn’t make it from the top 50 to the top 10. I’ll let you guess as to why Sharona made the show.Other people who only have Questionable OLD before photos to account for their success, and no documentation trail other than a weigh in slip which could be falsified by weighing down clothes at their initial weigh in (some people actually blogged about doing this in october) shouldn’t have been there either. This entire contest was a sham and ultimately the celebrity panel being all Dr. Oz’s friends are going to pick only TV friendly personalities. I was surprised when I didn’t make the top 50 and had no expectation of being in the top 10 as a young man but seeing how rigged some of the finalists are I hope the biggest loser wins this time.
