Dr Oz: The Wrong Way To Eat Healthy + Magnesium For Constipation

Dr Oz: Where Healthy Eating Goes Wrong

Next, for anyone on a diet or trying to lose weight, there’s a good chance you’re most focused during the summer. New research has shown that despite the popularity of New Years’ resolutions, most Americans are most determined to lose weight and get healthy during the summer. Most people will pick and choose from various diet plans to come up with their own weight loss plan, but what happens when you have too many things going on at once?

If you decide to whip yourself up a smoothie in the morning or stop and purchase one on your way to work, you’re probably thinking you’re starting your day off on the right foot. The truth is that you could easily be consuming 500 calories in that one smoothie, but who cares? It’s all healthy ingredients, right? Then later you reach for a dark chocolate protein bar, remembering that dark chocolate and protein are both reportedly healthy ingredients.

Then, for lunch, you buy a frozen meal from the grocery store that claims to be low-calorie, so you add a little Parmesan cheese and a flavored water. Then another snack at your desk before the end of the day. You then head home to make a healthy beef stew loaded with vegetables, and enjoy it with a piece of bread and a glass of wine, adding even more calories. Dessert is a low-calorie treat which seems like a healthy choice.

You feel like you’ve eaten a healthy diet all day, right? The problem is, you’ve consumed more than 2,000 calories! Those seemingly healthy choices can often lead to constipation as well. That’s why Dr Oz suggested one diet layer that everyone needs to start using, especially if you haven’t pooped today. Dr Oz suggested magnesium, explaining that often times we don’t get enough in our diets.

If you’re struggling with constipation, take 400 milligrams of magnesium before bed, or try munching on spinach or pumpkin seeds to get more magnesium in your diet.
