Dr Oz: The Chakra Diet
The Chakra Diet is a growing trend built on the foundation of ancient monks. Thousands of years ago, monks discovered the 5 Tibetan Rites, which unlocked the secret to longevity. They practiced meditation, yoga and diet to promote slow aging and peace from within. The western world is only now discovering these secrets. Can their secrets (like Fenugreek Supplements) work for you?
Pamela Lancaster, an expert of Tibetan healing, joined Dr Oz to explain the Tibetan Monk secrets that have helped keep them healthy and energized for years. Pamela says the mind is very important in the health process. The 7 Chakras run from the base of spine to the top of the head. Monks use the Chakras as their guide to health and healing. The Chakras within are constantly listening to the outside world and absorbing it into the body. “If you’re stuck in one of your Chakra’s, you develop heath issues,” Pamela said. Dr Oz said his specialty was the 4th chakra, which focuses on the heart. How do you pull all these together? With the 3 secrets described below…
Dr Oz: Sound Therapy Chakra Bowls
Sound therapy is done with bowls and is a way of bringing vibration into the body. (To demonstrate, Dr Oz had an audience member lie on stage with 7 bowls strategically placed.) The Chakras are listening to the vibrations. As the notes are being played, the Chakras are listening and releasing any negative energy you may be holding. (You can use one or two bowls instead of all seven bowls.) Dr Oz demonstrated this by sitting in a chair and placing a bowl on his head. Dr Oz lightly tapped the bowl on his head and then tapped a bowl he held in his hand. (This created a soothing vibration.) Pamela said when placing a bowl on your head, pick one that fits. Dr Oz said it felt as though his insides were vibrating. You can purchase bowls in specialty stores. If you don’t have the bowls, you can bring vibration into your house by humming. Hum for 60-seconds when you have a stressful moment. You can also use a CD, which can be purchased online or in specialty stores.
Dr Oz: Fenugreek Supplement for Acid Reflux
The Fenugreek supplement is used to open up your Chakras. Purchase it in tea form or as a supplement. The Fenugreek supplement aids in digestion and acid reflux. “It has a ‘distinct’ taste,” Dr Oz said. Fenugreek is used in maple syrup. You can also grind up the seeds and put them in curry. Take 1000mg per day before any meal.
Dr Oz: 5 Tibetan Rites
Dr Oz says he does this one every day because it gave him a renewed sense of vitality and energy. Pamela said the The 5 Tibetan Rites were controversial because some people don’t feel these moves can change your life. (Check out the moves below) Also, not all Tibetan Monks practice this method.
The Spin
The Spin opens up the emotional body. Children do this move naturally. To do, extend hands, palms down, and spin to right. Start with 2 or 3 repetitions. To make the spin easier, Dr Oz suggested focusing on a point and trying to turn back to that point. The goal is to do 21 spins, but start by doing as many as you can.
Leg Raises
The breath is important in all of these movements. To do this move, lie on your back. Inhale in when you lift legs up. Exhale as you put legs down.
The Kneeling Camel
This move stretches out the mid-section or the solarplex. To do, bring your chin to your chest and inhale and lean back. Exhale and return to the original position.
The Table
This move is good for the 2nd Chakra. Place your hands beside your hips and bring body up and head back. Squeeze the whole body like you’re squeezing an orange.
The Downward / Upward Dog
If you do yoga, you may recognize this position. To do, lie on your stomach. Push back into an arc position. Come forward and inhale, exhale and push back. Do several times.
