Dr Oz: Foods To Boost Brain Function
There’s a lot of talk right now about the three foods you should be adding to your diet, because together they could improve memory, sharpness, and possibly even prevent Alzhiemer’s. Some experts are calling it the anti-Alzheimer’s trio, which is why Dr Oz called Max Lugavere to look into it. Coconut oil is the first food in the trio, and it’s full of fat that can improve cholesterol and boost heart health.

Second is grass-fed beef, which is high in omega-3’s and has three times the amount of vitamin E than grain-fed beef. There’s evidence that vitamin E can slow the progression of Alzheimer’s, so “imagine what it can do in a healthy brain,” Max added. You really should only eat about 3 ounces of beef at one time, which is about the size of a deck of cards.
The third item in the trio is avocado, which is high in monounsaturated fats which are great for the cardiovascular system. It also has double the potassium of a banana with half the sugar. Avocado oil could also help with brain cell function.
Dr Oz: Meal Ideas With The Anti-Alzheimer’s Trio
Dr Oz asked his viewers to combine the three foods into one healthy dish, to see what they could come up with. One woman made a steak salad with quinoa, grass-fed beef, avocado, and coconut oil. Another woman made a breakfast bowl out of onion, mushrooms, olives, grass-fed beef, eggs, avocado, and the coconut oil.
How would you use these three foods in one dish? I would likely make tacos or fajitas, using the avocado to make guacamole and the coconut oil to cook the grass-fed beef.
