Dr Oz: Chicken Company Making Healthy Changes
For the first time, Perdue, one of the biggest chicken producers in the United States, is going antibiotic-free. Dr Oz was thrilled to gain inside access to see what goes on behind closed doors at Perdue, to learn what the change means for consumers. Mark Schatzker visited the hatchery at Perdue and learned that chicken companies were using antibiotics in the first place because of the dirty eggs that were coming into the factory. They had to start there and reportedly began using baby wipes to clean the eggs and prevent other eggs from becoming contaminated.
