Dr Oz: Healthy Heart Clinic
Dr Oz is concerned about the continued spread of Heart Disease in America. He said that it is preventable, and he put on a Healthy Heart Clinic in Jersey City, New Jersey to start a yearlong initiative.
Volunteers and doctors came together for a pop-up heart clinic focused on “bringing healthy back.” Of course there was a big turnout among fans of Dr Oz, and people had a variety of reasons for coming down.

Waist Size, Cholesterol, and Blood Pressure were among the factors they assessed in more than 300 people. While some patients received good news, others learned about more serious concerns, such as Mitral Valve Prolapse.
Another patient was in an emergent situation and happened to be in the right place at the right time. Dr Oz helped load her into an ambulance. Then there was Nisa, whose blood pressure and cholesterol readings were cause for concern.
Dr Oz also checked out an ultrasound of her heart, which looked promising. Then he performed an EKG, and the results found that her heart was beating quickly due to stress. His positive news for her was that it is all fixable.
Dr Oz: Save Your Heart
Dr Oz joined Nisa on his stage to talk about what has been going on in her life. Over the past five years, she has put on about 100 pounds. Dr Oz said it’s reversible, and he knows that she can take control and make lasting changes.
Another clinic patient, Tamoya, visited the clinic and explained that she had wanted to give blood to a family member. However, she was disqualified due to her high blood pressure. Her reading was high, so she was tested a second time.
Dr Oz came to check in with Tamoya, who said her mother has high blood pressure. At 33, Tamoya is a pastor and social worker, which means she is probably grappling with a lot of stress. Dr Oz said her reading was 165/112.
Dr Oz: Blood Pressure, Waist Size & Cholesterol
Since her Blood Pressure was so high, Dr Oz did not want her to leave the clinic without a plan to change her health picture. Her waist size and cholesterol were fine, but her blood pressure was high. Dr Oz asked Tamoya how her follow up care has gone. She said she had another appointment coming up.
Dr Oz reminded everyone that Heart Disease is preventable, and he encouraged everyone to monitor their Waist Size, Blood Pressure, and Cholesterol. Dr Oz also thanked Jersey City and everyone who was involved in the pop-up clinic.
