Dr Oz: Debi Mazar
Entertainer Debi Mazar has had an interesting career, and the mother of two was Dr Oz’s guest to talk about how she saves time around the house. She said that she enjoys having a full life and thinking visually. She and her husband turned their food blog into a cookbook and TV cooking show.
Now, Mazar is appearing in the TV Land sitcom Younger, in which her character encourages a friend to lie about her age. In real life, Mazar said that she used to lie and say that she was older. Before the dawn of the Internet, she said it was easier for actors to lie about their resumes. She shared her uses for Farro, Garlic Extract, and an Avocado Lemon Coffee Mask.
Dr Oz: Healthy Cooking with Farro
How does Mazar, a working mom, deal with health problems quickly? Her first task was to figure out a way to make more time for healthy meals. Her advice was to use the ancient grain Farro, which she said cooks in 30 to 40 minutes. Then you can dress it with olive oil, salt and pepper. You can serve it as a side dish or add it to soup. It could be mixed into a simple salad with olives, mozzarella, and tomatoes.
Dr Oz: Garlic Extract Liquid for Lice
“Lice is a clean problem, because Lice like clean hair,” Mazar said. She said that there are people called Nit Pickers that you can hire to gently and painstakingly comb through hair to find and remove lice. It is an intensive treatment process even if you try it yourself.
But you can use Garlic Extract Liquid around your hairline as a home remedy, because Lice supposedly don’t like Garlic. The smell will go away relatively quickly, Mazar said. Keep your child’s hair pulled back in a braid during a Lice outbreak at school.
Dr Oz: Avocado Lemon Coffee Mask Home Beauty Remedy
Nobody has time for wrinkles, and Dr Oz wondered what Debi Mazar does to prevent them. She shared this all-natural mask recipe.
- 1 mashed Avocado
- 1 tsp Coffee Grounds
- Juice of 1 Lemon
- Mix the ingredients together.
- Rub the mixture on your skin for moisture and exfoliation.
You could add olive oil if you wanted, and Mazar said it also works in your hair. To demonstrate it, Mazar applied the mask to Dr Oz.
