Mineral oil was the first health bargain. It turns out that baby oil is basically mineral oil with a little fragrance added to it. Mineral oil can help with things like earwax removal, massaging, removing makeup, cleaning makeup brushes, and moisturizing.
Dr. Oz said that if you bought a product for each thing mineral oil can do, it would cost you $159.
If you want to use this to clean out earwax, all you have to do is put a towel over your shoulder and tilt your head to the side. Drop a half drop of mineral oil into your ear with a dropper and let it sit for a few minutes. Then flip your head over and let it drain out.
Dr. Oz: Baking Soda for Mouthwash
The next product is baking soda, which you can use for many things including mouthwash, getting rid of dandruff, sunburn, bug bites, exfoliator, cleaning dentures, and deodorant. Dr. Oz said if you bought a product for every use baking soda has, you would spend about $231.
Dr. Oz demonstrated how to use it as a mouthwash. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda for every 1 cup water. Then mix it up. Add some to your mouth and swish, gargle, and spit. The best part is that if you happen to swallow some, it’s not bad for you.
Dr. Oz: Tea Bags for Swollen Eyes
The next great health bargain was tea bags, which you can use to treat pink eye, razor burns, insect bites, blisters, foot odor, bleeding gums, and blotchy skin. If you bought a product for everything tea bags can help with, it would cost you $189.
Dr. Oz said that tea bags are also great for swollen eyes. All you have to do is brew tea and then put the bag in the fridge for about 20 minutes. Squeeze out the liquid and put it right on your eyelids.
