Dr. Oz: How to Reverse Sun Damage
Dr. Oz had a segment on his show dedicated to ways of reversing sun damage. The first bad habit is being a “sun worshiper”, someone who tans all the time. Dr. Oz welcomed Tina from the audience to help him talk about this. She said she and her friends used to go up to the roof of her apartment building and tan with baby oils. Dr. Oz shared a photo of himself from 30 years ago, tanning on the beach in Turkey.
Dr. Oz recommended the ACE program for reversing sun damage. The A stands for Vitamin A, which decreases brown spots, wrinkles, and pore size. C is for Vitamin C boosts collagen. And the third ingredient is E for Exfoliant, which smooths the skin and makes the other ingredients work better.
For this, all you need to do is find a skin product with Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and an exfoliant. Vitamin A and C is often sold together in a product, but you can get them separately. The exfoliant is usually on its own. Use the Vitamin A and Vitamin C at night and the Exfoliant in the morning.
Dr. Oz: Partying Too Hard in Our Twenties
The next woman partied too hard in her twenties. She said she still parties, but not as much as she used to. Dr. Oz said if you give doctors a number for alcohol, like a beer a night, the doctors always double what you say. If you say you party once a week, they know it’s at least twice a week.
Dr. Oz showed a cirrhotic liver damaged by alcohol over time. The good news is that of all the organs in the body, the liver is the best at regenerating itself. A brand new study just came out that said you can reverse alcohol’s poisonous effects on the liver. The solution was coffee. One coffee a day lowers the chance of having a cirrhotic liver from alcohol by 28 percent. When people had four cups of coffee, they had about an 80 percent reduction in cirrhosis.
Dr. Oz: Too Much Junk Food
The next woman gave up junk food three years ago and lost 70 pounds. She said she quit eating it because she was tired of being fatigued and having a lack of energy.
But what should she do about the years of eating that stuff? Dr. Oz said that when you eat a burger, the food gets broken down in the intestine and raises the cholesterol. Cholesterol, over time, causes damage to the walls of the arteries that creates scarring that gets narrower and narrower until it blocks off blood to the organs.
A new study showed that if you eat 14 walnuts a day, it showed a significant improvement in blood vessel function. Dr. Oz finished the segment by trying to juggle walnuts and being really bad at it.
