Dr. Oz: Taking Control of Your Health
Dr. Oz talked to Joan, a woman who wished she could reset her health. She’s 43 years old and isn’t very happy with how she looked. Five years ago, she went through a breakup. It was very sad and she didn’t know why it fell apart.

This drove her to start a relationship with carbs. She goes to happy hour four times a week and drinks alcohol while eating French fries, potato skins and other appetizers. She said she’s not even aware of how much she eats. She worries that as she ages, it might become harder to lose the weight.
Dr. Oz: Disappointed with Health
She said she wants her good curves back and reclaim her old weight. Her blood pressure is very high and she’s worried about her health.
“I’m disappointed in myself. I’m disappointed in my habits. Every single day, it’s a battle with my confidence, my self-worth, my value, because I know there’s a healthier way to live. I need a do-over,” she said.
She said she wants to rework herself so she can have more vitality, age gracefully, and wear “cuter” things.
Dr. Oz: Facing Your Health Numbers
Dr. Oz took Joan to the Truth Tube to look at her health numbers. Joan didn’t want to see her health numbers. She just recently had her blood pressure taken and didn’t want to think about the number. She said Dr. Oz could show everyone, but she was going to close her eyes.
Ideally, blood pressure should be 120/80, but her number was 157/105. She said she was in denial about that number and wants to push it away. It scares her because she doesn’t want to think about what happens if she goes down that path. Dr. Oz assured her that he would work with her to get past these numbers. He’s going to give her a health do-over and prevent the health issues she would have experienced if she kept going down that path.
He said the first step was losing even just 10 pounds to lower the blood pressure. He also said she needed some more supportive friends in her life, because her friends are triggering her to eat and drink.
