Dr. Oz: Total Body Restart
Dr. Oz talked on his show about ways to give yourself a total body restart. For whatever reason, you may be feeling sluggish and not yourself. There are 4 slow zones in the body, including the brain, digestive tract, thyroid, and liver. But Dr. Oz promises hitting the restart button is easier than you thought.
Dr. Oz: Brain Fog Cures
Laura said she was in a brain fog all the time. She’s been staying home to take care of her daughter and she doesn’t feel her mind is as sharp as it used to be.

Dr. Oz suggested combining two foods we know are good for the brain. That would be coconut oil and coffee. Coconut oil helps build up super fuels in the brain and coffee helps boost long-term memory. Simply whisk in 1 teaspoon of coconut oil into the coffee and make sure to whisk it together. Dr. Oz said this should replace the normal things you put in your coffee.
Dr. Oz also suggested taking an 18-minute after dinner power walk. A recent study showed that moderate intensity exercise after a meal helps boost brain power. You want to walk to the point where you can’t sing comfortably, but you can talk comfortably. That’s the perfect zone.
Dr. Oz: Slow Thyroid
Kristen says her thyroid is in the slow zone. She said last year, she turned 40, and around that time her body seems to have changed. Her metabolism slowed and she started gaining weight and feeling tired. Dr. Oz said this is a common complaint and it’s because of your thyroid.
Dr. Oz recommended eating selenium for thyroids. Selenium is found in a lot of different healthy foods, but Dr. Oz recommended mushrooms. Take any mushrooms you like and chop them up. Mix the mushrooms into pasta sauce and serve it over pasta about once a week. This should help turn the thyroid around.
Dr. Oz: Sluggish Digestive System
Jean has a digestion problem. She said the smallest thing fills her up and she feels bloated. Dr. Oz recommended she eat the biggest meal of the day first, which is the upset of what we normally do. Dr. Oz recommended a big breakfast, a moderately sized lunch, and a small dinner.
This helps your body convert your big foods into energy earlier in the day. When you eat a big meal at night, it’s still in your gut all night long and it might not be moving through comfortably.
Dr. Oz: Tired Liver
Marsha complained of having a tired liver. She said she wakes up in the morning exhausted and stays that way all through the day. She said sometimes her diet is healthy, but not always. Dr. Oz said sugary foods and fatty foods irritate your liver.
To help your liver out, drink a daily spinach green drink. This will help to detoxify you. Blend together some apple, spinach, lemon, ginger, and cucumber, drink it daily, and you should have a better liver in no time at all.
