Dr Oz: Recipes to Unclog Your Arteries
Angela, and audience member, stated that heart disease ran in her family. She’s had relatives that have died from it so now she was trying to skip the fast foods and sodas and to eat much healthier. She stated it was a concern because she wanted to be healthy for her family and to be around a long time. (Good reason.)
Dr Oz showed an animation of the muscles of the heart. He showed the big valve and the aorta and the scarring on the plaque located on the aorta. In an unhealthy heart, the plaque gets larger, and leaves only a little sliver of space for the blood to get through. (Not good.)
Dr Oz: Blood Flowing Smoothie Recipe
30 Second Kitchen Fix #1:
Blood Flowing Smoothie
½ C pomegranate juice
½ banana
½ C yogurt
5 strawberries
This smoothie contains antioxidants to help keep your heart healthy. Start your day off with one every morning.
Dr Oz: Dark Cocoa Powder
30 Second Kitchen Fix #2
Spice Up Your Veggies- Angela stated that she only used a little bit of salt and pepper on her vegetables.
Oregano- A great, natural fix. Put a few sprigs onto your food. Add oregano to green beans to lower bad cholesterol.
Dark Cocoa Powder- This helps remedy a sweet tooth. Add some dark cocoa powder to butternut squash to help prevent blood clots. (I guess adding it to a bowl of ice cream wouldn’t help, huh?)
Dr Oz: Mulled Wine Recipe
30 Second Kitchen Fix #3
Mulled Wine- Add cinnamon and cloves to heated red wine. The red wine aids in relaxation. (Ya think?!) The cinnamon helps lower cholesterol and the cloves help to relax the heart. Heating it makes it a wonderful cocktail. (This one sounds like a winner to me!)
Dr Oz asked Angela which kitchen fix was her favorite. (Take a wild guess at which one she preferred.) Yes folks, Angela stated she preferred the mulled wine kitchen fix.

I wanted to make the Mulled Wine….The recipe is not very clear….Do I warm up the entire bottle of wine with cinnamon and cloves? If so, for how long and how much spices should be used, and can I store it back in the bottle? is it recommended to drink warm? can I place in fridge and take a shot nightly? Please let me know….I have very high blood pressure, and I’m hoping this recipe will help…Thank you! =)

Just google for a recipe for mulled red wine , that was how I got the recipe for it. I searched Dr. Oz and could not find any amounts of the brandy, cinnamon and cloves.
norma saenz says
1 750 ml btl of dry red wine, 125ml (1/2 c) brandy, 125ml(1/2 c) water, 2 oranges thinly sliced,1 lemon, thinly sliced, 225 g (1 C) sugar, 2x7cm cinnamon sticks, lightly crushed 6 whole cloves, pinch of grated nutmeg, lemon peel to decorate.
Simmer all ingredients, stirring occasionally, for 5-10 min or until sugar dissolves and mixture is aromatic. Remove from heat and strain into a large jug. Enjoy, Norma
