Dr Oz: Healthier “Fried” Food At Home
Looking for a new way to save time and money in the kitchen this year? Dr Oz was thrilled to reveal the latest and greatest kitchen gadgets that he believes are entirely worth purchasing. First was a tool to help you enjoy seemingly guilty favorites, in a much healthier way. An air fryer works by blowing a lot of hot air onto food, like sliced potatoes, to make french fries.
Air-fried french fries are around 300 calories with 16 grams of fat, which is less than regular french fries. Plus, the air fryer only requires 1.5 tablespoons of oil as opposed to several cups that eventually get wasted when making regular fries.
Next was a way to make cold-brewed coffee at home. At America’s Test Kitchen, they like this system by Toddy the most. The problem is that it has to sit overnight to enjoy the next morning. But once it’s ready, because it’s so concentrated, you want to mix it with about one part water to one part coffee, then add milk or creamer as you’d prefer.

Finally, Dr Oz explored a solution that can make opening a jar a total breeze. They love this device at America’s Test Kitchen, saying anyone can use it!
Dr Oz: Best Blenders Of 2017
Then, to change the way you make smoothies in 2017, there’s certain things you want to look for when blender shopping. Julia Collin-Davison first suggested you look for a curved base, 6 angle blades, and nothing less than 750 watts.
For the “mac daddy” of blenders, if you’re willing to spend $500, the Vitamix will be your go-to. Julia claimed you’ll be able to enjoy the smoothest smoothies you’ve ever had. The good news is, as Julia stated, that’s a blender that will last! For a blender made to blend the perfect margaritas by crushing ice, go for the Breville Hemisphere Control. Finally, to make perfect hummus, try the Ninja.
