Dr Oz: Magnesium Supplement Improves Fatigue
Dr. Oz and Dr. Jennifer Landis shared Dr. Landis’ fatigue solution to help you get your energy back! She said the cause lies in four imbalances in your body and they are all simple to fix! She shard a five minute yoga exercise that will reduce your stress and boost your energy!
Dr Oz: Monk Fruit Artificial Sweetener
One of the biggest causes of fatigue is the energy crash that we get after eating sugar, so the next piece of Dr. Jennifer Landa’s fatigue solution puzzle involves a new sugar substitute that will satisfy your sweet tooth without sucking away your energy. Dr. Landa explained that monk fruit has been used in Asia for many years because of it medicinal properties, but also for the sweetness it provides, which is 150 times that of sugar. Dr. Oz said his show’s medical team did extensive research into the benefits of this sweetener that comes in little orange packets and they found that it has not only been used to treat diabetes in Asia, but also obesity for hundreds of years.
- Comes in packet form
- Scoopable form
- Liquid drops
- Look for Lo Han
- Make sure you buy without sugar alcohols
- Only three calories per serving, which is technically considered zero calories by the FDA
Dr Oz: Take CoQ10 To Fight Muscle Fatigue
The final thing that is draining your energy could be sitting in your medicine cabinet. Dr. Oz said there are three common over-the-counter medications that could be causing your fatigue and the first one is statin. Dr. Jennifer Landis explained that statins interfere with the energy cycle of the body, which prevents us from getting the energy we need. Dr. Landa said the number one sign that statin drugs are the cause of your fatigue is if you feel physically exhausted and you are not able to exercise because your muscles are tired. Dr. Oz said that many people need to be taking statin medications for health reasons, so if this is the case Dr. Landa said they also need to take an important supplement to counter the effects that are draining them of their energy.
- CoQ10 – Take 100 MG with your statin every day to fight muscle fatigue
Dr Oz: Does Heartburn Medication Drain Your Energy?
The next group of over-the-counter medications that drain your energy are the ones known as proton pump inhibitors for heartburn. They include Prilosec, Prevacid and Nexium and they drain your energy because these drugs actually deplete your body of magnesium, which is essential to your body’s energy supply. Dr. Jennifer Landa said if you must take one of these medications then she recommends a magnesium supplement to help you get your energy back.
- Take 400 MG magnesium as night (because it is calming and will help you sleep)
- Chew 2 DGL tablets between meals to help reduce your need for proton pump inhibitors
Dr Oz: Birth Control Pills Cause Fatigue
The final medication in your medicine cabinet that could be causing your fatigue is your birth control pill. Dr. Landa, a hormone expert, said she actually does not recommend birth control pills to her patients because they drain a woman of her energy. She added this was a huge factor in her personal fatigue solution when she was 28-years-old. Dr. Landa explained that birth control pills block the body’s ability to release testosterone, which is very important as she mentioned earlier.
- Get an IUD form of birth control that does not control hormones, which are safe for women who have not had children as well as for women who have had children.
