Dr. Oz says that every month a woman ovulates and releases an egg, which is a sign that everything in her system is working as it is supposed to be, but sometimes the eggs cannot come out the way they are supposed to. They get trapped inside the ovary due to a condition called PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Disease) and can lead to hormonal imbalances in the body. Instead of making estrogen, they will produce testosterone, which is not good for women since it is a masculine hormone.
Dr. Oz explains that the body always has a little bit of hair on it, but when we begin to produce too much testosterone it begins to grow and becomes more visible, especially on the face. He says there are few common signs of PCOS women can look out for if they start to see unwanted hair.

Dr. Oz says it is important to get a diagnosis of PCOS is the cause of your unwanted hair because it can lead to infertility and in some cases, cancer.

The easiest way to diagnose Polycystic Ovarian Disease is with an ultrasound, but Dr. Oz says there are also ways to prevent and treat PCOS and they are easier than you might think.
