Dr Oz: Blood Pressure-Lowering Meal Plan
If you have a blood pressure that is sky high then this Dr. Oz Show is for you because he has the solutions to help you get your numbers back down into the normal range and it might be easier than you think.
Dr Oz: Foods That Lower Blood Pressure
Since high blood pressure is the number one cause of aging, Dr. Oz says it is important to lower your numbers and he has a few ways to do it without taking medication. He says the first thing to remember is potassium because potassium hates salt and will help fight it off and lower your blood pressure.
Here is a meal plan to help you get the recommended 4-5 grams of potassium every day.
Breakfast: Drink a potassium smoothie that contains equal parts apple, greens, and carrots. Add in a squeeze of lemon juice for tanginess and added flavor.
Lunch: Eat a salad with white beans, which are loaded with potassium.
Dinner: Enjoy a plate filled with chicken, broccoli, and sweet potatoes because they all contain potassium.
Dr Oz: Lower Blood Pressure Doing Handgrip Exercises
The next way Dr. Oz says you can lower your blood pressure with taking a pill is by doing handgrip exercises for 10 minutes every day.
- Squeeze a stress ball for 2 minutes at a time and relax.
- Do this exercise 5 times throughout the day.
Dr Oz: Electroacupuncture Lowers Blood Pressure
Dr. Oz’s final tip for lowering your blood pressure is one he had never heard of before, but has recently learned could be beneficial. Jill Blakeway demonstrated electroacupuncture, which is similar to regular acupuncture and works to stimulate certain trigger points to lower your blood pressure.
