Dr Oz: What is a Fibroid?
Dr. Oz has more breaking health news to share with you! Dr. Oz says most women will experience Fibroids at some point in their lives, especially those who are in their 30’s and 40’s. Fibroids are benign muscular tumors that grow from the uterus and Dr. Oz believes we all need to hear this important new breakthrough. Dr. Jennifer Asthton, an OBGYN, says a new study shows women who had higher Vitamin D levels have a 32% lower risk of developing Fibroids, which is a very significant number. She says it does not necessarily mean Vitamin D can shrink Fibroids that already exist, but the information shows promise for the future of women’s health.

Dr. Oz says while medical professionals have no idea what causes Fibroids to grow in a woman’s uterus, they do know they are often aggravated by hormones, which is why they can be especially painful during a woman’s menstrual cycle. He feels strongly that every person should be taking a Vitamin D supplement, but especially women who are worried about Fibroids. Dr. Jennifer Ashton recommends taking 1,000 IU per day of Vitamin D3 and she shared some of the ways you can add it to your diet.
