Doctor Oz did a segment with Dr Mike Roizen about Germs at Louisa May Alcott Elementary School, and then he did a game called Are You Smarter Than Your 4th Grader (At Packing a Healthy Lunch)? Do you know how to pack a healthy lunch for your child? Dr Oz was joined by Bryce, the cutest and most energetic little 4th grader who was just bursting with personality… and Bryce’s mother Judi.
Dr Oz’s Healthy Lunch Tips
1. Which meal is healthiest and keeps you fuller for longer? Peanut butter and jelly sandwich, cobb salad or a cheeseburger?
Judi guessed the Cobb Salad and Bryce correctly guessed the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Dr Oz said that salads have lots of add-ons that can make it unhealthy. If you make a pb&j sandwich out of whole wheat bread, natural peanut butter (a protein) and low sugar jam, your child will be goo to go!
2. Which is the healthiest snack to pack in your child’s lunchbox? String cheese, strawberry yogurt or pretzels?
Judi guessed pretzels and Bryce again correctly guessed string cheese.
Way to go Bryce! Dr Oz gave Bryce a Dr Oz lunchbox and a special Dr Oz diploma. He said that the biggest challenge we face is to educate our parents so the they can raise their children well. Dr Oz gave everyone in his audience a free copy of You: Raising Your Child. I sure do wish I was in Dr Oz’s audience today 🙂
