Dr Oz spoke about how to turn back time on your face without plastic surgery. For this segment on under eye bags, forehead wrinkles and age spots, Doctor Oz brought on Paula Begoun, the Cosmetics Cop. Begoun said that there are miracles in the Amazon and elsewhere, but all skin care products have their limitations and so we cannot be unrealistic. She also said that if you are spending more than $30 on a product, then you are spending too much.
Eye Vibrator for Under Eye Bags
Dr Oz’s first area for the Cosmetics Cop to fix was under eye bags. Begoun said that if you have puffy eyes as a result of swelling from water retention, then there are things you can do such as reducing your salt intake and sleeping with your head slightly elevated. In addition, you should always remove your makeup before going to sleep. Paula showed a neat contraption called an Eye Vibrator that costs $16 and you can use it when you get fluid buildup under your eyes. The Eye Vibrator can be used for about 10 seconds under each eye, and it will help to move the liquid in the under eye bags. If you do not see results after a week, then she told Dr Oz that your under eye bags are probably not being caused by water retention. Lastly, she recommended to use a gentle eye makeup remover such as Neutrogena Extra Gentle Eyes.
Hydroquinone for Age Spots
Paula Begoun told Dr Oz that hydroquinone works wonders for age spots caused by sun exposure. Two of her favorite products include Alpha Hydrox Spotlight Skin Lightener Fade Cream that costs just $10 and Olay Definity Deep Penetrating Foaming Moisturizer (if you are allergic to hydroquinone). If neither of these products work, you can also get a prescription strength product from your doctor to reduce the appearance of brown age spots.
Forehead Wrinkle Products
Dr Oz’s final area of discussion was forehead wrinkles. Begoun said that nothing is better than botox, but exfoliating can help a bit. She recommends NeoStrata Ultra Smoothing Lotion AHA for $27 or DHC Salicylic Face Milk for $19. I cannot wait to try these products!
