Dr Oz: Should Artificial Sweeteners Be Allowed In Milk Products?
Dr. Oz has been discussing the controversial petition being set forth by the dairy association. They want to add artificial sweeteners to milk without being required to state it on the front label of the package. Essentially they would like the FDA to change the definition of milk and Dr. Oz is not happy about it! Would you give your children milk if it contained aspartame? Dr. Oz has a warning you cannot afford to miss, especially if your family consumes any amount of dairy products.
Dr Oz: Voice Your Opinion To the FDA Regarding Milk Labeling
Dr. Oz talked to a mom who says she feeds her kids a great deal of milk and other dairy products because she has always believed they were healthy for her family, but she is definitely concerned about the dairy industry using artificial sweeteners without clearly stating it on the product label. Dr. Oz says the most important thing you can do as a consumer is let your voice be heard. If you do not agree with the dairy association’s petition regarding milk labeling then you need to voice your concerns to the FDA. He said you can do that by visiting their website at regulations.gov. What you say can actually affect what ends up on store shelves, so go by May 21 and leave your comments for the FDA to consider as they look at the dairy association’s petition.
Dr. Oz: Artificial Sweetener Recommendation
Dr. Oz firmly believes that milk is a wholesome beverage that offers many nutritional benefits, but he believes it needs to stay that way, unadulterated and unchanged. He says transparency is the key, so make sure you are carefully reading labels in order to be certain of what you are buying for your family. He says he would personally rather put real, whole foods in the bellies of his kids than roll the dice with artificial sweeteners and chemicals that have unpredictable effects on their health.
