Dr Oz: How to Look and Feel Good on a Budget
Dr Oz shared this segment with New York Times Best Selling Author, Clark Howard, of “Living Large in Lean Times,” to teach Dr Oz’s fans how to look good and feel good on a budget. Clark Howard provided tips and secrets on how to enjoy a nice lifestyle during tough times and said that the biggest secret is all about the “dime.” Mr Howard said saving that dime whether it goes into your retirement or your savings will make all the difference.
Dr Oz assigned a number to every audience member and he spun a computerized wheel on his stage. A lucky audience member was chosen to come on stage and asked a question regarding looking good on a budget. She asked a question about getting healthy without spending a lot of money on a gym. Clark Howard suggested what is called a “no-frills gym.” He said that these gyms cost very little money – some have membership fees as low as $15 per month without even signing a contract. He said while they might not offer you a place to shower or towel service, they will have the necessary equipment for you to exercise. He also suggested using hospitals, community centers, colleges, and the local YMCA.
The next audience member wanted to know how to save money on razors. She kept getting frustrated with having to shave on a daily basis and her absorbing the costs of purchasing razors. Luckily, Dr Oz and Clark Howard had some great tips to help her out and definitely saved her money. Clark Howard said that a great tip is to make sure that your razor is dry after every use.
He said that razors get worn due to moisture. Dr Oz added that along with drying your razor with a towel, it would be a good idea to clean your razor every once in awhile. The cleaning could be done with a little cotton ball and some alcohol.
As an extra bonus, Dr Oz gave a copy of Clark Howard’s book, “Living Large in Lean Times” to all members of his studio audience.
