What Are Skin Tags?
Doctor Oz said that skin tags are basically a pouch of skin
with collagen and blood vessels inside of the, which is why they do not just fall off. Skin tags usually aren’t too big, but Dr Oz showed an example of how big they can get and it was about the size of a large marble. Dr Oz said that if your skin tags change in color, rapidly grow or bleed, you should go see a dermatologist because skin tags can become cancer.
What Causes Skin Tags?
Dr Oz said that obesity, pregnancy and Diabetes all can cause skin tags. People most commonly get skin tags on their eye lids, neck area, chest (beneath the breasts), arm pits and groin area. All of these areas have friction, and it is when your skin rubs that you tend to form skin tags.
Skin Tag Remedy: Dental Floss
Dr Oz used a balloon to demonstrate the technique for using dental floss to remove skin tags at home. You tie the dental floss around the base of the skin tag, and in a few days it will shrink and you can basically “pop it.” I would be too scared to try this at home personally, but also, who really wants to walk around with dental floss tied to their skin tag for a few days? I’d be interested to know if this works though, so if you try it, please report back with your results! And as always, you should consult with your doctor before trying anything health related.
Skin Tag Home Remedy: Liquid Wart Remover
Dr Oz’s second skin tag home remedy is to use liquid wart remover on the skin tags. Make sure to apply the wart remover just to the skin tag, and not to the surrounding skin.
Of course, there is also the option to go to your dermatologist’s office and to have a doctor remove your skin tags. Dr. Doris Day showed Dr Oz how she burns off skin tags. The patient just feels a little sting and the area may turn red, but the skin tag goes away over a couple of days. You can do over 50 skin tags in a day. Bigger or less flat skin tags need to be removed with special scissors and cut at the base. Dr Oz also popped up a message on the screen that said you should see an eye specialist if you have skin tags on your eyelids.

I tried the dental floss.. I actually used a fine thread.. it was on my cheek. I put a small round bandage on it to hide the thread. You almost have to have someone else tie it.. it has to be really tight. It only took 3 days to die and fall off.. but on day 2 it was really sore.. same thing with the “freeze” wart removers.. really sore before it dies and if you touch the skin around it.. man it hurts like no ones business… also the wart remover took much longer. I have also had a few cut off.. it hurts but just for a second.. course, I trust just anyone with a razorblade ..

For months I’ve had a skintag in the upper-inner thigh area wear my underwear elastic lies. I tried the floss technique and it works! I used a dental floss that has a bit of stretch to it. (I was worried that a thin thread would cut through the skin). I gripped the tag and pulled. While pulling, I was able to crank the floss tightly at the base of the skintag and tie a knot. It mildly hurt for a few minutes and afterwards, although I was aware of it, it didn’t hurt. A few hours later, the tag turned from my normal peachy flesh color to dark purple. The day after, it was flat and black and drying out. By the 3rd day, just a small amount of skin was holding what was left and I pulled it away with just a spot of blood. I would use this technique again should I ever have the need.

I just tried the dental floss for a skin tag. It works!! the tag was a tad lower than armpit. It had been there for about 2 years and it was ugly!! I had my husband help me with the dentla floss, we tied it tightly and cut the rest of the unnecessary string off. It was a bit uncomfortable having my husband help me but hey “in sickness and in heath”… we cover it with a bandaid, the second day we checked it and it was purplish it was not hurting, or uncomfortable! The third day with a bit of touching it it came right off! Not uncomfortable at all! Hope this helps I don’t usuallly right reviews but I felt i should seeing as this had helped me so much! 😀

I used a thick thread my mother tought me..which is japanese style..you keep pullling and choking the tag to death ..and eventually if falls right off..

Sorry, if my instructions didn’t flow as smoothly as the others. Without a lot of editing its impossible for me to convey anything as smooth as a baby’s butt, so what one is generally stuck with is a rough idea of what can be done.
Just know that you aren’t really “tugging” (not a jerking motion at all!) or pulling at the strings in several jerky motions with each round. What you are really doing is stretching it out ONCE per “additional application of an additional 3 foot string” in one taunt stretching-out “easy does it (don’t want to break it or jar it loose so you have to start over do ya?)” pulling action. When you are stretching it out, it’s done in order to tie another 3 foot piece of string father down the stem with goal at getting it right at the base (stem meets flesh). That’s it!
This 3 string/final jerk’n tug action (or maybe a slight touch of a razor blade to it) takes ALL the days off your waiting for it to “fall off” using the 1 string action method! There’s no reason to do that b/c with each additional string you add you are subtracting a day off your wait time. So, if you use the [“THREE->Strings/ONE->Day Method”] then you will go through each string in what one person will go through in each day of the [“THREE->Day ONE->String Method.”] The [“ONE String & Wait 3 Days Method”] takes 3 days. The former method is done ALL IN ONE SITTING ~ 1 OR 2 HOURS. By the use of either methods, you will go through all the same THREE stages of skin-tag consistency, just one takes three days and one string to do (+ waiting time), while the other accomplishes the same in one setting by using 3 strings (+ either a slight yank/pull or cutting a less than millimeter circumference of what little life is left dangling from a fleshy stringy-strand of what was once the former blood-filled plumpness of a mushroomed opposingly attached stem.
Either way, with only “Time” being your “ONLY ‘Variant/Factor’,” the following is the 3 stages that your skin tag will go thru irrespective of which method taken* , i.e., (day #1 or string #1) flesh color to purple color stage, (day #2 or string #2) then black stage; flat, rubbery & devoid of hydration (consistent with a “fresh” beef jerky), then finally (day #3 or string #3) last day, dried out (consistent with a “parched” or dried-out, several days old, beef jerky). *The 3-String Method takes just one or two hours to complete all three stages just by using three strings instead of using the one string & wait three days method. Just remember if you have to use a little razor cutting at the end of the [3 String 1 Hour Method] just compare the former “stem” of the skin tag (pre-choking stage) to the likes of an obese person by which of whom is about to have one of those operations done that cut a piece of the colon out causing the unlikely extreme of anorexia which is now the thickness (rather the thinness, b/c that’s really a more accurate depiction) of your post-choking staged skin tag “stem.”
Again, it’s what ever method fits your personality. It’s as simple as that! Don’t feel bad if you picked one and your husband or partner picks another. That’s why there are type-A and type-B personalities, Vanilla and Chocolate, East – West, North – South, Singularity (absolute zero degree temperature) to Singularity (beyond the speed of light); Extreme oppositely correlated ends. Yin; Yang……. Devil; God…… So on and so on…
