Dr. Andrea Pennington, author of The Pennington Plan: 5 Simple Steps for Achieving Vibrant Health, Emotional Well Being and Spiritual Growth, said that women tend to downplay symptoms like abdominal cramps and headaches, especially since women tend to put themselves last and focus on their family and children.  So please take note, and if you see these symptoms, go see a doctor or your emergency room without delay!

Stroke Warning Signs:

True or False: A stroke is most commonly associated with memory loss?  FALSE!  A stroke is most commonly associated with difficulty finding words.

800,000 people suffer from a stroke every year, and over 100,000 people die each year from a stroke.  Doctor Oz had Judy on his show, who suffered from a stroke.  Judy said that she felt foggy in the morning and could not see out of her right eye.  She also began to notice that she could not feel her right arm and she was slurring her speech during a presentation she gave.  All of these symptoms were due to Judy having a mini-stroke.  Judy suffered from 3 mini strokes in one year, and ignored it every time so she had a full stroke.  If you feel numbness or paralysis on one side, you should call 911 immediately.  If you are treated within the first 3 hours, it can save your life.  Dr. Oz said that one great test is to ask the person to smile.  If the smile is not symmetrical, and one side is slouching down instead of going up, this can be a sign of a stroke.  Judy also said to look for trouble finding the right words.  For example, Judy would say blue coat when she would mean red jacket.

Colon Cancer Warning Signs:

True or False: Bloating is a symptom of colon cancer.  TRUE!!!

Colon cancer is the third cause of cancer deaths with over 100,000 cases of colon cancer known.  50,000 cases of colon cancer are diagnosed each year.  If you clean up your diet and you are still feeling cramping and / or bloating, you should first see your Obgyn to rule out ovarian problems.  Then, see a GI (Gastroenterologist).  Doctor Oz brought Cynthia on his show because she had colon cancer.  Cynthia had pain her side that felt like someone was burning her from the inside.  She also felt air bubbles in her stomach and was bloated.  Sure enough, after pressing her doctors, they found she had colon cancer at stage 0.  If she had waited longer, it could have killed her, but since she caught it early, she is now cancer free!

Diabetes Warning Signs:

True or False: Sudden bursts of energy are a sign of diabetes? FALSE!!!

Six million Americans have diabetes, and 70,000 will die this year from diabetes.  Plus, diabetes will contribute to another 200,000 deaths this year.  Diabetes means that you have high blood sugar, which clogs up your arteries and thus impedes your blood flow. High blood sugar also impacts people’s moods.  Plus, diabetes can cause blood clots which can cause strokes and other problems.
