Dr Oz Surprise Party: Chromium Polynicotinate & Dr Oz’s Red Drink

Dr Oz’s Surprise Party included a super exciting guest list and advice for how to live longer, lose weight and even shocking things you never knew about Doctor Oz.  Dr Oz sent Stepp Stewart, Judy Gold and Carolina Bermudez from z100 to gather-up some of Dr Oz’s Biggest Fans including the Scissors Sisters, some ladies at a dance studio and three friends who wrote a special song for Dr Oz.  All of these ladies got to sit in Dr Oz’s Super Fans Section in his audience for today’s show.  The first segment in Dr Oz’s Surprise Party covered how to live longer and better in under 1 minutes a day.

Dr Oz’s Surprise Party: Eat Eggs

Dr Oz said that we should all eat an egg every day, because it is a great source of protein and it does not increase your cholesterol like many people believe.  There are nutrients found in an Dr Oz Surprise Party egg that our bodies need.  One egg every day can help prevent Alzheimer’s Disease and prevents your bones from weakening, plus the egg yolk helps to prevent blindness.

Dr Oz: Chromium Polynicotinate Prevents Diabetes

Dr Oz said that a life-saving supplement that can help prevent Diabetes is something called Chromium Polynicotinate.  If we do not change the rate of people getting Diabetes in this country, then 1/3 of our population will be Diabetic in the near future.  Dr Oz said to take 200 mcg of Chromium Polynicotinate daily.

Dr Oz: Check Heart Rate Daily

Dr Oz said that it is crucial to check your heart rate daily because it predicts your chances of getting a Heart Attack or a Stroke.  To check your heart rate, you feel for your pulse in your wrist.  Take your left hand and flip it over.  Place your right fingers beneath the bone that runs straight down your arm from your thumb.  Count the number of beats you feel in 10 seconds, and multiply that number by 6 to get your heart rate per minute.  Dr Oz said you should check your heart rate in the morning before you get out of bed.  If your heart beats over 90 times in a minute, then your chance of having a Heart Attack is 3 times greater than if you are under 60 beats per minute.  Also, if you notice your heartbeat is going up by 10 or more beats over months, then this should be a major warning sign to have your heart checked out.

Dr Oz Red Drink Recipe

Dr Oz said that beets are great because they dilate your blood vessels so that blood flows better, and beets also increase the iron in your body so that you create more blood.  Beets are so critical that Dr Oz is changing his Green Drink to this new Red Drink Recipe.  Dr Oz’s Red Drink is made of beets, parsley, apples and carrots.  Everyone in Dr Oz’s Super Fan section got to sample the Red Drink and seemed to love it.  Click here for the full recipe: Dr Oz’s Red Drink

Dr Oz: Self-Massage to De-Stress

Dr Oz brought on Bridget Turnbach, founder of The Pampered Spirit, to teach us how to de-stress in a minute or less with a self-massage.  We carry stress in our head and face, especially people who sit at a computer for most of the day.  Take your two thumbs and place them by the bridge of your nose, under your eye socket.  Apply firm pressure straight back for 8-10 seconds while you breathe slowly.  Dr Oz said that after the show, he and his entire audience was going to the LA Sports Club for a massage!
