Dr Oz: Eric & Lara Trump Having a Baby
Dr Oz was honored to welcome Eric and Lara Trump. They’ve had quite the remarkable last few years, beginning with their wedding in 2014. They then became part of America’s newest First Family and are now taking on parenthood. They joined Dr Oz to talk about their pregnancy, becoming parents, living life in the spotlight, and the cause they want everyone to know about. Plus, you will be shocked by the disgusting tweet that Chelsea Handler sent to them on Twitter after they announced that they were having a baby.
Dr Oz: Chelsea Handler Twitter Tweet Against Eric & Lara Trump
Eric Trump and his wife Lara sat down with Dr Oz to talk about their pregnancy announcement and how they think Eric’s father is doing is America’s newest leader. (girardatlarge / Flickr)
As Lara and Eric sat down, Lara explained that she found out she was pregnant on Eric’s birthday, January 6. They then shared the news with their family on inauguration day. Dr Oz was quick to point out that the news was met with both positive and negative reactions, even reading a tweet from Chelsea Handler. The tweet read “I guess one of @realdonaldtrump’s sons is expecting a new baby. Just what we need. Another person with those jeans. Let’s hope for a girl.”

A couple hours later, Chelsea corrected the misspelling of “genes” saying she was “stoned” at the time.

Eric expressed sadness over the fact that news as beautiful as theirs was taken down that way because of politics. “That’s how divided we’ve become as a nation,” he stated. “That’s how divided we’ve become over the last 10-20 years and it’s sad. It’s really, really sad. This is a very special thing and it should be celebrated.”
He also added that for every negative comment, there were 300 positive ones from people saying they love his family and what he stands for, as well as how he represents himself.
Dr Oz: Donald & Eric Trump on Political Correctness
Dr Oz made a point to ask about President Trump‘s reputation of being very straightforward and blunt in terms of how he talks to people and Eric stated that one thing his father has never bowed down to is political correctness. According to Eric, his father says what he thinks and is a man who wants to fight for this country. Eric also pointed out that his father didn’t need to run, saying he’s “almost the epitome of the American dream” because he’s achieved all of his goals in life.
Eric also made a point to say that the educational system in America is ranked 30th in the world, we have $10 trillion in debt, “our military is crumbling,” and our veterans aren’t being taken care. He also stated that our country gave $150 billion to Iran, asking for us to imagine what could have happened if that money had instead been given to our schools or health programs. Eric explained that he saw his dad become frustrated which is why he wanted to do what he’s done.

When he became President, Donald Trump gave up the leadership of his organization to Eric and his brother Donald Jr. Eric admitted that it was certainly a lot of pressure, not only on him but for his dad to have to do. However, he was thankful to be able to see the success of the organization while sitting beside people he loves.
Dr Oz then asked Lara how she deals with the stress. Lara explained that she and Eric met in 2008 and have known since then that they’ve entered into everything as a family. To cope with all that she faces, Lara likes to go for a run to find relief.
