Dr Oz: Martha Stewart Living the Good Long Life
Martha Stewart, author of Living the Good Long Life, has focused much of her professional career on crafts and cooking, but has now shifted her attention to health and wellness and Dr. Oz is curious why she made that decision. Martha says her mother was a wonderful role model who lived a long life until she died at the age of 93, so she has a strong desire continue her legacy.
Dr Oz: How Martha Stewart Deals with Criticism
Martha Stewart told Dr. Oz she does not allow outside criticism to get her because she believes she is basically a good person doing good things. She says her focus is on helping people create wonderful recipes or decorate their home in a new way and she tries very hard not to allow the bad things people say hurt her feelings.
Dr Oz: Martha Stewart’s Online Dating
Dr. Oz asked Martha why she decided to try online dating as a way to find a man for her life. Martha’s first response was to reference her new book where she wrote that having strong personal relationships in your life is one of the best ways to increase your longevity. She says she also figured it is just like having a dog in your life, so she figured why not have a man, too. Martha Stewart told Dr. Oz she was married for nearly 30 years, has a wonderful daughter and beautiful grandchildren, but wanted to try Match.com as an experiment to see if it would work.
Dr Oz: What is Martha Stewart Looking For in a Man?
Dr. Oz did not waste any time asking Martha exactly what she is looking for in a man, love or love-making? Martha laughed in response and told Dr. Oz they could talk about it later. Dr. Oz was not going to let her the hook that easily, so he persisted and asked her what love-making is like at her age, which annoyed Martha because she says she is not old at all. Dr. Oz got a bit more serious as he pointed out Martha talked about love-making in her new book, but he says as a society we often do not want to talk about people and their bedroom activities after they reach a certain age. Martha again promised she would talk about it at another time, but also agreed with Dr. Oz that we need to talk about it more because it is very important to living a long life.
