Dr. Oz says Qigong doesn’t cost anything because all you need to do is learn the technique to get a better night’s sleep in no time. Most of us have trouble sleeping because our energy is blocked due to the stress and anxiety from everyday life, but Qigong helps to calm the mind and relax your body before you go to bed at night.
Dr. Oz invited Qigong instructor Karl Romain to demonstrate how easy it is to use the ancient Chinese practice in your own life to relax and get a better night’s sleep. He explains Qigong will release blocked energy, reduce your stress, and help you sleep better and more soundly at night, which is beneficial to your overall health.
- Seated in a chair, grab your knees with your hands, take a deep breath in and gently relax your body forward while releasing a calming “shway” sound, which creates a vibration to help release blocked energy. Repeat.
- Clear anxiety by taking your fingers and placing them just below your left ribs at about the point where your stomach and spleen meet. Inhale and as you exhale gently apply pressure why letting out a long “whooooo” sound. Repeat two times.
- While seated, take a deep breath in while raising your arms above your head. Exhale, bring your arms down in front of your body and let out a long and soothing “sheeeee” sound to clear your entire body. Repeat.
Karl Romain says you can practice Qigong every night or any time you are feeling stress or anxiety to help you relax and sleep better.
