Dr Oz did a segment called Alternative Health Secrets from Around the World: India to bring us some of India’s Health Secrets and Remedies that keep people in that nation healthy and beautiful well into old age. Doctor Oz took everyone on a life-changing trip around the world to India and, for many of us who have not yet traveled to this part of Asia (me included!), this just made it even more tempting to try and figure out a way to plan a trip to India! Dr Oz said that India is full of timeless beauty, exotic colors, extraordinary sights and sounds, and the oldest traditional Alternative Health Secret called Ayurveda Medicine.

Dr Oz said that the main principle behind Ayurveda Medicine is that the body, mind, and spirit must all be in harmony. So, a clean and simple diet is a must, along with medicinal spices, oils, meditations and yoga. 80% of Indians still rely on these holistic practices today, which allows them to look and feel younger well into their old age. Dr Kulreet Chaudhary joined Dr Oz for this segment because she is an expert in Ayurvedic Medicine and Integrative Neurology. Dr Chaudhary said that food is medicine and, before you develop a fully blown chronic disease, you can help to prevent it (starting today!) by eating certain foods and using certain ingredients.
Dr Oz: Abhyanga Massage: Daily Indian Massage
Dr Oz said that the Abhyanga Massage is a Daily Indian Massage that boosts your immunity. Dr Chaudhary said that, since your skin is part of your digestive system, it can play a role in removing toxins from your body. For 70% of the population, you can use Yellow Sesame Oil for the Abhyanga Massage, but if you have an Inflammatory Condition such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, then it is better to use Coconut Oil instead. Warm up some of the oil in the morning and add a drop of water to cure the oil. Once the drop of water makes a popping sound, then the oil is cured. Pour a little oil into your hands and rub your hands together. Then slowly pat down your face, your scalp, and your entire body from your head down to your feet. Go in circular motions on your joints and in long motions on your long bones like in your arms and legs.
