Dr Oz: Popularity Of Big Butts
Earlier in 2015, “Vogue” declared that “we’re officially in the Era of the Big Booty” while social media is full of “belfies” or butt selfies. Dr Oz even created a 30-day squat challenge that got more than one million people interested! There’s even a documentary film called bottoms Up” that looks at the increasing interest in butts. Women are going to extremes just to achieve a bigger behind. There’s even been deaths related to illegal butt injections.
Tia Brown spoke in that documentary, and joined Dr Oz explaining that the butt trend is attributed commonly to Jennifer Lopez. The Kardashians literally built their empire on their butts, and it’s just grown ever since. Whenever a trend pops up, it can make people self conscious, which is why Tia said the best thing you can do is love your body as it is.

Dr Oz: Ways To Enhance Your Butt
But still, sometimes we want to give our butts a little boost, so which ones actually work? Dr Oz first looked at moisturizers and creams, and said flat-out, they don’t work! As for the pills and herbs, they haven’t been tested, but he thinks there’s no way they could possibly work.
As for alternative means, there are great ways to add a little oomph. You can use padding or stuffed underwear to make your behind look bigger. Tia’s favorite out of all, were body contouring garments, that accentuate when you already have. It’s similar to Spanx and enhances your back side to give an illusion of a bigger behind. The garments exist to cinch your waist and make your butt look larger.
Of course, there’s the good old thigh master to workout, building your behnd in a healthier way.
Dr Oz: Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure
Tia Brown explained that body contouring is becoming more common, with women taking fat from their waist to slim out there, and then putting it on their hips and behind. Dr Michael Jones is a plastic surgeon working at one of the busiest clinics for butt enhancements in the country. Dr Jones shared that when he first started doing butt augmentations back in 2003, he maybe did 30-40 a year. Now, in 2015, they’ve probably done close to 750.
Dr Jones explained that his procedure involves the fat transfer to the butt, known as the Brazilian Butt Lift, and women from all walks of life are getting it done, even some men. The majority of them come in requesting a certain shape, and basically he liposuctions your mid-section before shaping and contouring the butt to give them the type of butt they’re looking for.
Dr Oz: Butt Augmentations
You could also augment your rear end using silicone impants, but he chose not use that in his group because of the high risk of complications. He believes that the trend actually will last, because he’s giving people more self esteem and helping them feel better about themselves.
Dr Oz turned to his audience asking about butt augmentations. One woman said she would do it in heartbeat because she’s post-menopausal and losing weight, knowing that it would make her feel better. Dr Oz said he loves a trend that encourages women to embrace their curves, but has a hard time supporting a trend that is hard for women to achieve naturally.
